VIDEO: Drip Irrigation System Install in 7 Raised Beds!

If you’ve ever wondered how to set up a drip irrigation system for your raised bed garden, look no further. This video goes into how I outfitted my entire front yard with drip irrigation.

I can’t tell you how much of a relief it is to be able to turn a knob and have my entire yard irrigated. Not only will it save water, but it also saves TIME, which is the most precious resource we have on this Earth.

We go into:

– How to retrofit a sprinkler for drip irrigation
– How to install drip lines on raised beds
– How to install drip tape on in-ground beds
– How to cap off extra sprinkler heads
– Mistakes I made that you can avoid!

Huge thanks to https://www.dripdepot.com for sending out their raised bed kit, in-ground bed kit, and a few extra parts! They went above and beyond to consult with me on my yard and unique needs and from what I’ve heard from friends, that’s the norm with them!

  1. Very cool. The broken riser stuck in the PVC is easily removed with a riser extractor for $5 anywhere. You can also use stakes to hold down your irrigation instead of securing to wood.

  2. Hey! Any update on how you attached the drip line to your beds? I think I see a wood plank attached to the end of the bed in another video. How'd you go about attaching the wood? I'm super excited to get my beds up and running 🙂

  3. Is there anyway to water a raised bed without access to a hose? I live in an apartment with a small patio and am hoping to grow some produce. Would large water spikes be a mistake?

  4. Personally, I like that you are a 'jump in and do it' type of person. For one, because I tend to operate the same way! But more importantly, you provide so much better information this way. Showing us how something is done perfectly with no challenges is no better than the instructions that arrive with any given product purchased. You are able to show us real issues that we need to think about and plan for when doing the same projects. We get the benefit of learning from your 'mistakes'. Thanks for this video. This year I have promised myself to add drip system before I replant my raised beds.

  5. could you have run all of those beds from 1 sprinkler head? I have 1 available head and want to use that to water 6 beds. do you think I need more sprinkler heads or can I use the one that I have.

  6. Took your recommendation and went to Drip Depot online. Found a ton of help and every part I needed for a complete drip system to feed my small raised area. Dropped your name on their Facebook page to give you the props you deserve.
Thanks again for all you do, especially the inspiration.
