I used a nematodes spray on the soil not conclusively effective! But it certainly gets the slugs young before they can damage young plants so now the plant has a bigger slug free window in which to grow.
At first on my allotment if I saw slugs I'd carefully remove them but now I am insane I just go up at night sometimes and stamp all over them.
We have frogs and hedgehogs around here so realised use of slugs pellets should be kept to a very low level if at all.
What is the Grit trap? Is it like tiny marble?
