I don't see how anyone can live in -25 degree weather. I would flat out freeze to death! Well I was way off on guessing what the critter was. I said cat…LOL Can't help on the mushrooms as I have never grown them before but watching yours closely in case I ever do try. Love the hot water bottle idea! That should bring the temp up for ya.
Thank you for sending the link to me it is helpful I can’t believe it only is it was to find a new and much appreciated
Hi Adam, we had plenty warnings about the oncoming snow just to check for damage if any none to report other than the wind is coming in pretty strong and from a different direction. Not helping my damaged zip, it's making it worse. We topped up the larder Monday and I bought wood for the new door. The door frame I put in last week has been pushed over so I am pushing as well to get this damned door fixed. I have grown Nadine for ages now In my wife's opinion the best spud. Bought mushroom seed in pellet form. drilled a log and inserted as instructions. Nothing happened threw them in a pile behind the shed and forget about them. Rummaging around two years later beautiful chanterelle mushrooms had appeared delicious. Nothing since. Take care Mike B
A very snowy day there mate. Not nice walking in sub zero temperatures with high winds. Glad you’ve done a bit of rabbit proofing. Take care. Nick
Touch of moisture there Adam. I haven't seen a water bottle for years mate 🙂 Good idea.
Cheers
Harold
-30 welcome to canada eh. You would live through it we all do. Cheers
One for sorrow Adam. Even the Magpies are telling you that them rabbits ain't gone. I loved "through the BIG GATE", especially as it came early on. You might be on to something with that hot water bottle idea, how cold was it in bed after you'd sacrificed the advanced technological heating system to the Peppers?
you may wont to carry on collecting trail cam footage before you come to any conclusions about the rabbits as we all know come the warmer weather they'll be back !! even Yosemite Sam said and i quote “Say your prayers varmint … dead rabbits tell no tales” !! no but seriously the cold weather mite be the reason there is no sign of them
Been waiting to see your mushrooms, I have several little white dots on mine, very small but definitely baby buttons, will put a pic on Facebook. Mine looked like yours 2 days ago. Well glad there's no sign of those pesky rabbits, fingers crossed, and yes its snowing like a good one in south Wales : – )
Now that the rabbits are gone the plot is for the birds. Can't help with the mushrooms. Best wishes Bob.
Hi Adam saw the cold weather on the news. Thinking of you all.
Hi Adam Snow i hate the darn stuff kids love it ???… A friend of mine his brother was a Oil company soil core analyst… his job was to test these core's taken from drillings for Oil deposits OK He travelled all over the world with his job … The one place his job took him to was Alaska… I remember him telling us while he was there this particular time Alaska had its worst winter in recorded history…. Adam all staff lived in Thermal protected Huts only ventured outside certain times of the day…Temperatures dropped some 30 to 50 degrees … for 1 week temperatures were down to 70 yes 70degrees the oil in the truck engines froze .. the tires on the trucks froze if they were kicked they shattered… that is cold eh!…. The joke of all this is after his job in Alaska was done his Oil company moved him TO Saudi – Arabia.. temperature 40 degrees F… poor Ozzi what a job sadly he's no longer with us god rest his soul….But at this point in time our weather is so unpredictable Earlier in 17 we had floods across Southern States /tornadoes /heat waves ..now snow falls in mid states of 10/ 15 foot deep crazy man crazy Im in Beverly Hills CA no snow ….. Adam great posting you send out bud pleased i subscribed see ya now……….. Edwin J Thompson ll ……….. Ed
Cracking good vlog. If at first you don't succeed…
Adam my folks came over to the US in the early 1800s from Herefordshire a small village called Englishbickner/ Cinderford England Now regarding your Magpies i have heard of this bird it doesn't have a very good press albeit in the country side around Herefordshire … ( if you see two magpies together they will be a pair OK You must on seeing these birds Say Goodmorning Mr & Mrs Magpie … because it will undoubtedly bring you very good luck ) Adam a little English Country folk law see ya buddy…. Ed
first time iv visited your site, brilliant tip with the hot water bottle, subscribed and hope there are more pearls of wisdom to follow
The hot water bottle is a great idea, Adam . I would have never thought of a magpie to trigger the camera. Someone told me in my allotment that mushrooms will appear at exactly 25°. I grew mushrooms one year in a bag of straw and horse manure. The bag got very hot and I had mushrooms soon after. Cheers mate
yeah Herefordshire is where my dads folks originate from the Thompson side… my moms side came from Worcestershire … dads family came down from Scotland settled in Hereford then moved to Birmingham moms family came from Ireland and settled in Worcester later they moved to Birmingham The rest is history as they say …….Ed
Hi thank for all the great infomation great channel
Hey Adam, the snow looked nice.. only the light dusting… I don't care for temps lower than 30 period… so any with negative scares me… (wimp yes.. I am). I hate the cold. Hopefully you've taken care of the rabbit issue, I would set a trap crop to make sure… before you place out all you stuff. The mushrooms look promising. LOL I have seen one of those bottles in years!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! T
hi where did you get the webcam from thanks
Now you know what real cold is. Keep warm and drink tea.
Yeah if it was ever -7 omg :O I'm glad it's gone now
Ooh you got a wee bit of snow. Nice bit of editing in the vid, nice set of spuds you have there!
I'd never seen a Magpie, so I found him charming. You probably consider him a pest though, perhaps you should leave something shiny out for him and he might just eat a pest or two. (grin) BTW, we don't have Magpie here so that's why I'd never seen one.
