VIDEO: A MENTORSHIP Program-My PLAYING HOMESTEAD Response~

A NEW Homestead Mentorship Program coming soon & how it’s time to support our Homestead Community. Our kids’ futures depend on it! SEE MORE BELOW!
So! You wanna be a Homesteader?
I want to THANK YOU folks for following our special journey over the years! My family and farm can not express how much it means! We also want to THANK YOU for your continual tremendous support for The Great Appalachian Homesteading Conference!
I will be making a Video ASAP with more details and thoughts, but I wanted to let you know that I am starting up a special Mentorship Program for homesteaders! It will be designed to help new folks get a jump start and it will also be designed for special assistance with those already homesteading but need a little help from friends! This includes hands-on help with teaching skills, providing advice and assisting with good old-fashioned labor. Yes-help with hard labor! That’s what we love!
I, on a daily basis, get SO many messages, emails and more asking for HELP. And I realize the tremendous need in our community. So, I wanted to let you know that this is coming! It is a special calling on My Mission. Our Mission! The grass roots and homestead community IS the last frontier and I am determined to do all that I can to help and give back!
Stay tuned for MORE details and coming SOON!

  1. Just thank you for being you. Honest , hard working people, good hearts, sharing and caring like we should be to each other. My grandmother said the same, just being good neighbors. I say loving your neighbor as yourself.

  2. You are so awesome and upbeat I really like watching your shows and up until I heard that comment about playing at homesteading made by another poster it kind of caught me off guard and I thought it was a little bit immature and kind of nitpicking. I really love when I see people out there becoming wealthy and not just Financial wealth but wealth that Wells up and sincere happiness really loving life you can tell the difference between when somebody is acting and one somebody is doing something because they love it and that is what counts. Anybody can go out find somebody to finance a piece of property for them make small payments work a job or two and one piece at a time piecemeal a home together that can be done. And I know that first-hand. But having the home is only one aspect of having a homestead and a sustainable one at that learning how and what is sustainability is the key point. And if you can keep a smile on your face and have a good attitude while you're doing it that's what makes it worth doing. I would love to come out to you and even camp out in a tent out in your backyard and participate in some type of mentorship program if you have that available my name is Laura and you can email me at theorangejewel@gmail.com.

  3. You are WONDERFUL!! Mentorship is so necessary especially in the body of Christ and the world. My husband and I tell people , " we have a homestead were just waiting on the animals. As we wait we are pushing to garden and produce more and more of our food

  4. In regards to the mentoring, I am standing in line waiting!!! I LOVE your thoughts on homesteading, I so agree! I do have a lump in my throat thinking of the sacrifices my grandparents alone went though for the farm but also my GG grandpa and grandma moving up from TN after the Civil War to homestead. So thank you!!!
Which also leads me to the the conference, it is the same weekend as our family cemetery clean up. (The family that moved up from TN) Are you going to have anything thing for those of us that desperately want to be there but can't, like an online"glimpse" of things? If not, its all good. It will be an item on my "events to look for" when I am planning my calender next year! Thank you for all you do! God Bless!!

  5. I wish I could put my arms through my mobile phone & cuddle you. Everything you've said was so spot on. I'm blessed I found your channel. So thank you so much.

You're a breath of fresh air. Thank you great great grandmother etc. As you had a fantastic role model that had a part in shaping you into who you are today.

Keep your lovely Chanel going as I need more of your positive thoughts. Etc.

Thank you so very much xx <3

  6. Just found ya'll. (did I say that right? LOL) Nope! Y''all! There. That's better! First off you have 1 lucky hubby! I would say I'm jealous but at 60 I'd just be being silly! I've been wanting to get to homesteading for several years. I actually started following pure living for life. They were the 1st ones I'd found. I've got good and bad things i could say but mostly I'm happy for them! They have progressed very far very fast. A good couple who rely on each other. Again I could make comments either way.

Mostly though, I wanted to say as a new subscriber to YOUR channel, I'm glad I found you and look forward to your positive outlook! And wish me luck! The most important thing that I've seen all the homesteaders have is one another. Do I have to wait for one of those "anothers" before I start homesteading? Well, if I do or don't actually start homesteading, "another" would be great for this one. I suppose the best way to find the right another is by doing what interests me. So homesteading it is!

I know an active YT channel is in my future. I did start one some years ago involving the work I was and continue doing with feral cats. So maybe a FeralHomestead could be a good name! See y'all soon!

  7. I am new. New to small farm/homestead life, we've barely started. I have no idea what I'm doing so my opinion ain't worth 2 cents I suppose. But this Georgia girl is feeling you today! Between this and your video on homestead women, I can tell you I'll be binge watching this channel. I think we think alike. Best of luck and keep em coming, we/I need you! Lol. And if you're looking to adopt a newbie look me up!

  8. You are right about everything you said. Negative is just that and NO-ONE needs to feed they’re life with that. KEEP doing you and learn what you need to do for yourself and your family, and if no one wants to take your ADVICE then that on them. ADVICE IS JUST THAT ADVICE.

  9. I was lucky enough to have my great great granny till I was about 16 too, great granny had 15 kids and they grew or raised or hunted all their food. She cooked on a wood stove in a 4 room cabin, married my great grandpa when she was 12 and he was 21, loved him all her life. The only things she ever 'bought' were staples, flour, sugar and the occasional packaged cookies. Both Cherokee and Choctaw in my line, and so damn proud of the people I come from.

  10. You really handled that very well. You hit the nail on the head with saying it's a race against yourself. Truly we all play homestead every day in our own way. Just owning a house is a homestead, whether you have acreage with it or not. People say things in frustration and that type of comment isn't worth responding to. Great video Patara!

  11. I have been watching as many of your videos as I can. I think that your wonderful. My kinda gal. We just bought a 12 acre property last September and I was able to plant a garden this year. I have been trying to get back to the country for over 20 years now. I love being in the country. That's where I feel the most peace and closest to God. I believe that you are a blessing to me to have found your video's. I look forward to watching more of you as this year goes on. Thanks again for being who you are.

  12. It's now 8:30pm on October 20, 2018!!
I have subbed, liked, and shared!! And I'm in South East NC, and very sad that I'm not closer. You are awesomely positive and seemingly wise beyond your years! Thank you GG! I look forward to seeing more, cause I'm sure I'll be learning, and knowledge is power, right??
    Thank you and God bless!

  13. Hey Patera if more people especially women could be like you in this world you're a great inspiration and I look forward to your help in teaching myself and grandchildren !When someone offends me my Homestead always benefits cuz I work that much harder!!God bless ya sister..

  14. I don’t know how I found you on YouTube. I don’t Homestead. But I sure do you think you are
one amazing lady and I am sure many people get a lot out of your videos. I love watching them and so glad I found you. From what I see on your videos and what I hear on your videos you are one amazing lady. God bless you on your Homestead.
