So are they seriously moving their entire Farm to a 50/50 ? That doesn't seem intelligent especially if they own the current site. If the
Developers pull the plug in 5 years when the farm is no longer an advertising assit they are $crewed!!
Cool idea I hope this kind of thing catches on. Good luck to SteadFast!
This is a fascinating video! Your drone shots are wonderful. This whole idea is so inspiring! Though some criticize, I think the music and quality of your videos is excellent!
Excited for that new community and will forward to seeing it grow next season ! Thanks Curtis !
I love this idea
Wow amazing things happening over there that will be a great place for a course!
They keep changing the laws where I live so I can't do this. I have to save to buy land to do this and so far that is hard
You should have been involved with this project Curtis.
There are going to be a heck of a lot of dump trucks bringing in wood chips along with the compost. Each year it will just get better and better. I would imagine there would be plenty of opportunities for residents to volunteer their time towards this as well which will be great. And of course a learning center for people of all ages.
Wow! I really hope this becomes a thing. Lots of small urban farms are so much better for food security than the few corporate owned monoliths. This could be amazing.
I wish to god my son and I could do this… we are in Sequim Wa a great farming community with incredible potential. My oldest grandson wants to do what you are doing as well my friend . Thanks for all you do
This is awesome. Universities should do this too.
Holy marketing! Amazing idea to implement it directly into the community like that. I'm working on a similar idea I hope to one day achive this level of progress! Thanks again for the content curtis!
Yes Yes Yes!!! What an uplifting development. Thx for sharing Curtis
hey – thanks so much for sharing my music with your viewers! for anyone intrerested, the intro song is called 'dead cat in the parking lot' by birocratic
A bike only resterant sounds cool saves a lot on the cost of parking lot but some logistical problem come to mind first off Commerical deliveries and removal of used grease , cardboard contairs ,soft drinks what about Taxies?
By the looks of it I’ll be going to your next workshop and there next year and that is going to be AWESOME.
Super super cool idea. The whole concept is fantastic.
This is such an amazing opportunity, for everyone involved! The houses will be sold for more money, the people will be able to walk or ride bikes to get their beautiful, fresh produce, and the farm will have tons of clients and exposure. I am legit jealous too!
Wow!! That's so cool!
Really awesome Curtis – I love your work!
Absolutely everything about this project is genius. Collaborations with the community centre will also give you a steady stream of interns with the added bonus of being an amazing opportunity for local youth.
Also, re interview filming: Shoot in 4k. Setup a single angle with the subject almost face on and the interviewer with a partial profile angle (turn a bit towards the subject). Crop in post to whoever is talking. Super easy. Make two copies of the video track, zoom one track to the subject, one to the interviewer. When you edit out one track, the other one is underneath. Cut both copies for the wide shot. Best substitute when you don't have 2 cams.
I understand his story, and it is great that the developers reached out to him for this project. Would have been more useful if this was something urban farmers could pitch to developers and he had successfully done that.
Hey Curtis…I haven't heard you mention your new farm for a while.. did you purchase some land of your own yet?
Excellent development model for sustainability. Instead of the stagnant mosquito ponds, this would be a great idea.
I love this! Farms near houses is a great trend.
It's my dream! So excited!
This is smart growth and the way of the future
That's awesome. Congratulations to SteadFast. A great opportunity it sounds like, and a great example for the future of new housing developments.
Which Lens was this during the interview if you don't mind me asking?
