I have a really old, huge, grapevine growing beside a fence and I'm hoping to build a support for it so it goes over a seating area pergola instead. Any tips on chopping back old and established vines? If I hack it back a lot, will it rebound? The vines are all the way up a 10 m high tree, and across 10 m of fence (pulling it over) which is nuts.
Looks like one grape has 4 overhead branches and the other has 3? I might try this. How much yield have you been getting?
