  1. I have a kit that has a dome that the light sits on, so you cant use it without the dome. Does the dome help after germination? I got mold the first time i used it for a month.

  2. Never had any luck with florescent lights. I went to the farmer spider sf 1000. I don’t need to have the light 3ins away. Covers a 3 ft sq area. Thickest tomato stalks I have ever seen. Never leggy. I bit pricey but they work.

  3. Luke does the height of the grow light, or should I say the distance of the light from the plant matter. Garland who make a grow light in the UK recommend 6cm from the seedling and move it up as the seedling grows. The one I have by the way allows for the lights to be highered and lowered.

  4. It says product is unavailable. any alternatives? thank you for all the info, I've been into hydroponics for 6 months, and just now I'm starting to get all the knowledge in order.

  5. MIgardener, thanks so much for all your valuable knowledge. I live in south FL zone 10b and am wondering if you could do a video dedicated to starting seeds in trays outdoors/indoors for areas that have no frost or very little risk like my own. The real threat here is the heat, humidity and summer rains. Thanks so much.

  6. Had to believe people are still pushing florescent in 2018 . LED is by far the way to go today. The grow light shown is a florescent tube, not a compact florescent. 5000-6500K LED's are not only recommended by most, they're readily available everywhere. If you're just starting seedlings to eventually transplant outdoors, you don't need a "grow light". Look for 2000-3000 lumens, 5000-6500 kelvin (daylight) Blue and red lights aren't necessary unless you're keeping plants indoors year round.

  7. That light is now being sold for 99 dollars. Any other recommendations on lights? Whoudl a regular LED shoplight work at around 5000k temp? Thanks,

  8. I really wish more gardeners would do videos on starting seeds with OUT grow lights for spring. Our ancestors did not have grow lights and yet they were still able to grow food for their families. Why not show people how to grow food for their families without spending extraneous money on unnecessary things. Times are hard for a lot of people right now. And some don’t have space for grow lights either.

  9. Oh my word! I love the great instructions you give and so simple! I have watched several other of your grow light videos as well and you do such a great job getting us beginners going! Thank you!
