VIDEO: April Garden Update 2018

This is an update about what we have growing in our garden in mid-April. We are working to transition our garden from spring veggies to summer crops. We have limited space so it is a juggling act when shifting from one season’s crops to another. I said “Hitton Chinese Cabbage” several times. I should have said “Hilton Chinese Cabbage”.

  1. Wow, wow, wow. Way to much to comment on, but I am amazed at how much is just popping right now!!! I think you should sow some Brussels late summer and over winter them, they are a cold hardy plant and I think your hot summers stunt them. Have a super weekend preserving fresh food:))

  2. Your garden is looking great Lea!! Hope the fruit trees do decent this year, won't be much
longer they'll be producing more than you know what to do with. Awesome on the
strawberries you've harvested so far, looks like many more lbs to come yet!!
Did i miss it or do y'all not have corn planted? I'm jelly of your garden lol, can i pitch a
2man tent in your back yard and move in? LOL!! I got the contender bush beans also but
that was only because they were out of the blue lake BB's at the time, but from what ive
seen they do just as good if not better. Looking forward to your next garden update or
harvest vids Lea!! Have a good'nnn

  3. That was one hack of a garden update! Your garden looks so LUSH!!! I watched the whole thing and found it very interesting. I hope you get to the bottom of why the brussel sprouts and broccoli…..now I want to know what is causing that! You guys have done a great job and it looks like you will have a fabulous harvest season!

  4. You have one heck of a garden growing on over there. So many awesome veggies and fruit trees. You shonuff have it going on over there! Hope you great some fruit this year and not the birds..LOL Have a great week and thanks for the tour! 🙂

  5. Hi, Lea !!! How are you doing? I'm here to give and hug you tight with some support. From what I've read the Brussel sprouts might like the cold only. I enjoyed the tour of your beautiful amazing garden. Thanks for sharing. Enjoy your day and take care. Big warm hugs and unlimited blessings too. I support the smaller channels. Thanks for supporting my channel too. See you next Monday my, friend.

  6. I love your garden. It is prettier every year. You can tell a lot of love goes into it! What type of straw do you use. Does it have seeds in it? I see your garden is always weed free! ❤️

  7. With regards to brussel sprouts, for me they typically take at least 6 months before the sprouts appear. Being cold tolerant I plant them in September and they grow nicely through a typical zone 8 (Picayune) winter, and I start harvesting sprouts around April. Still getting a good amount from them now in mid-May but the insect pressure is starting to affect them. I really don't think it's a nutrient issue since as with yours the plants are beautiful and healthy; the sprouts just take forever. The leaves are delicious while you wait for the sprouts.
