  1. you know whats actually kinda sad, there isn't a feature for that on Windows, not natively anyway. the screen capture function you used. i would say screw ios if it wasn't for how terrible windows 10 is… anyway…

  2. As a young conventional farmer in the Netherlands i have an oppisite question: Farming small or not? Wether i keep on farming bigger and bigger for low prices or make a small section for local food production with better profit margins.
Your channel inspires me to look further and see how a small scale farm can be even more profitable than large scale.

  3. Great video ! Can you link the greenhouse you were going to use? There are so many options out there.
Btw, the microgreens are taking off, thanks for the book and workshop.

  4. I would be interested in seeing a video about other non-direct farming infrastructure costs as mentioned at the end here (i.e. septic tank, roadway in, vehicle parking etc).

Did you get quotes (or rates/m2 , ft2) from contractor's for the other works like the roadway into the farm/ parking etc?

  5. Dude, you are working on a farm already established. There's no hard work in that. You got to get out there, get some bare land, buy a tractor, and break it every week leveling the ground, soil testing, tilling, buying compost in 40 yard transfer trucks, etc. Irrigation, soil, rows are already setup you're just planting and water. Farming is tough, you're like making it look like its all google maps. Welding, PSI, flow rates, compression checks, picking out a 3 point machines like a transplanter, etc are things farmers do.

  6. Thank you! Thank You. Roots & Sprouts Enterprises to hire and train unemployed Veterans is moving forward, preparing to purchase a farm in the NY Finger Lakes area. Your data is greatly apreciated.. Yes, please give us all the budget details you care to share. Invaluable.

  7. Looks like it would have been a really wonderful farm. Thanks for sharing it with us. We are super excited about the agri-tourism options with our new place too, it was a crazy list of things you are able to do.

  8. Fantastic video! I'm an analytical type so these "sample" property evaluations are quite appreciated. I do like the idea of the budget breakdown as it helps highlight the big and little nuances between different candidate properties. Thanks!!

  9. This video was extremely helpful, thank you- I am very fortunate to be taking over around 180 acres of land that has been in my family for 7 generations out here in Souther MN. One of my dreams is to work on developing 6.5 acres of that land into specialty crop as I too believe in the need of supplying healthy, organic food to your community. An overview of how to continually refine my ideas and make them into a reality has been very helpful as this is a massive undertaking for an upstart farmer like myself. More videos regarding medium or larger scale specialty farm production would be especially helpful for me as I embark on this endeavor!

  10. Although inspired by this channel I didn’t cut up my back lawn. But what I did instead was meet the people behind the stalls on the road that I used to buy my organic vegetables here in the northwest side of The Netherlands. That way I met an elderly former tulip bulb farmer that sold his commercial used land but kept the large shed, greenhouse and piece of land behind his house to grow vegetables as a hobby. Now we work the soil together he with his knowledge, land and tools and with being good company,my labor. We sometimes watch these video’s together where I have to translate because he doesn’t speak English. Often I don’t have to translate because by watching what your hands are doing, he can understand what you are trying to say.

Will I ever turn my lawn into a vegetable garden or search for land? Probably not because why invest in land and/or tools if you can help out elderly (hobby)farmers this way.

  11. Please make a video outlining the budget calculations you used for this farm. IT would be extremely helpful to see for those of us considering starting a farm.

  12. I would love to see an economics breakdown of the farm plan to include employees, outside additives, etc.

We just purchased a 2 acre farm and plan to start some of your processes to give market gardening a go. Last year on a rental we did a few beds but had low sales as a new farm would. This year we have two established farmstands who are going to carry our product. Thank you for all the time and effort you have put into educating the YT land.

  13. You are a great teacher. I don't even particularly have a reason to watch a video like this, yet here I am still engaged and interested. I always leave these vids with at least a "pearl" and this time it's greenhouse orientation. Thank you.
