VIDEO: Free Local Resources: Municipal Compost

Today I want to show you a valuable resource that you may have available to you and you may not even know it. Many municipalities have certified compost yards that are available to the public. You just might want to take a look around in your area to see if you can get some high quality compost for very cheap or even free!

I am happy to make these videos without compensation because I enjoy contributing to the community. However, I do accept sound money donations to help fund the garden and channel if you feel so inclined:

  1. I have a question unrelated to compost – if I find straw bales now, let's say, can I just leave them in the yard over winter or would it be better to look for bales next spring. I can't imagine they would break down too much outside for the winter…is this how you did it?
