You just might want to take a look around in your area to see if you can get some high quality compost for very cheap or even free!

I have a question unrelated to compost – if I find straw bales now, let's say, can I just leave them in the yard over winter or would it be better to look for bales next spring. I can't imagine they would break down too much outside for the winter…is this how you did it?
