Hello from south Texas coast.
I have written you before and did not get a reply but I am going to try again before I move on to a different you tuber. I am having a absolute garden fail. My tomatoes have stopped making any fruit even though it still makes flowers. My pepper plants first fruits ended up with blossom end rot. I treated that but now nothing,no flowers ,no fruit.temperatures are in the 90s in the day and 70 to 80 at night. I fertilize and use Epsom salt as well. Any thoughts.

I don’t remember what bell peppers I have cuz they actually overwintered from last year! They’re full of flowers right now. They loved our heat wave last weekend. Thankfully I didn’t lose blossoms in the 106 degrees. I think the plants around them help give shade. My jalapeños overwintered too! 1st yr I didn’t have to buy peppers for transplant! Fingers crossed that they produce even better this 2nd year! Thanks for this video. I needed these tips.

Hi Kim!! My bell pepper and ancho plants aren’t setting fruit, but the jalapeños are thriving. Temps here in VA are about 85-95. Should I try the shade cloth? Or could it be something else do you think
Hi Kim, another excellent video! In fact I shared it with a family member I thought would enjoy the content. This is her first time growing peppers.
Question: you mentioned consistent watering as being important to the plants. Well my raised garden beds are 10 inches deep and I am growing in 5 gallon buckets, which are quite deep as well and that have two holes drilled on each side about an inch or so from the bottom. When I place a moisture reader into the soil all the way to the bottom it reads wet. If I bring it up to the root base, it reads moist and it stays moist pretty much to the top of the soil. So when do I have to worry about watering? Oh yes, I have some of my plants in a few of the large self watering pots which has that well at the bottom of the pots and I’ve been keeping that full of water so that the wicking action doesn’t dry out at the bottom. So far so good with maintaining wetness in the soil. Should I be concerned that the bottom most layer of all the gardening containers and beds are wet if the middle and top a reading moist? Sometimes if it has rained, that middle section and top section will read wet. I’m not sure if this is a good indication or a bad indication that the bottom most regions of the soil are remaining wet and what to do about it if I’m supposed to keep the soil constantly moist. I look forward to receiving your guidance!

I tried a liquid soap water spray to rid of bugs from eating pepper plants and the leaves completely fell off. Too strong of solution I guess? Lucky for me leaves are coming back. Next time neem oil. Tried Marconi peppers for first time.
Hi, was wondering if you've done a video talking about pros/cons between growing in raised beds versus growing straight in the ground? We just moved into a new So. CA house with lots of room to garden and debating between the two. Thanks.

I had to move unexpectedly shortly after my peppers were transplanted. I had to repot them, move, then replant them once I got where I was going. They never got back into the swing of things. They are alive but stunted with almost no new growth. Did you think the multiple transplants are to blame?

We just did our tomato one this weekend and planted our "mortgage lifter" transplant so we're all pretty tired. lol. Thank you so much for the tips….perfect timing for me. Prevent don't cure!
