very interesting to hear.
Great pioneer grower! Growing veg and flowers and saving seed. 🙂
Super cool you did this video. We're contemplating some seed production and I've listened to Dan's Farmer to Farmer three or four times. Love seeing his operation.
I didn't know Adam Sandler is a farmer.
Wow! Always wanted to know how it's done! Thanks Curtis. This only fuels my curiosity more!
Wow. This was a great video! What in interesting business. Dan is very articulate.
Don’t the open pollinated varieties have lower yield? Corn OPs average 60 bpa less than hybrids and can’t push 200 while some hybrids get to 400+.
That is really cool to hear and see how a family started to grow and save seeds and made a business out of it. Thanks for sharing! 🙂
Hey Curtis I’ve been watching your videos for about a year now, and you’ve really helped me visualize what to do and how to do it. My family and I just bought a 100 acre property in Mississippi. Hopefully we can get in touch for the many questions we have. & thanks for all the information you’ve provided!
Labor 🙂
They lock people up for having a seed saving machine.
Selling on line is best so they don't have to mark it down so much for retail. Plus online market I think is going to be the place for the future more and more.
Seed is where the money is and will be more and more in the future.
Always wondered how anybody did it on a larger scale, I have done most of my seeds but that is very small scale with only a few plants. Thanks Curtis!
A new seed company is born.
Great video and Nice shirt brooooooo!
love this music track… and great video!
Great video man! Hey, I had a question…awhile back I was watching one of your vids, and you were talking about a spinach grower from Eugene, Oregon. What was his name? Thanks bro.
That's all pretty impressive.
More Co Ops please
What about seed/plant patent/protection? i.e. plant breeding generally protected by the plant breeder and that is why seed savings generally cannot be utilized without permission and license fees. That is why it is not so simple just jump into this business, I think. Old type of plants might be free for seed savings or perhaps make own plant by crossing with two or some protected seeds?
Interesting to see the behind the scenes of a seed saving farm. Thanks.
Thumbs Up!!!
Loved seeing you on The Anarchast my dude.
I CAN'T WAIT TILL THESE STUPID SOUNDTRACKS GO OUT OF STYLE!
I just found this place yesterday looking for the tilthier you use for your compost and found this about 2hrs from me in Maine… https://www.youtube.com/user/JohnnysSeeds
I have my own home garden and am really interested in growing veggies from seed and selling them. I’ve been doing some research and learned that you can’t grow certain plants that have patents on them without permission. So if I want to grow basil or tomatoes or whatever…do I have to grow from non patented or expired patent seeds?
My dream would be to run a farm like you guys, and am wondering if this patent thing applies to you?
It’s all confusing but fascinating at the same time. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!!!
