VIDEO: Papalo: The Heat Loving Cilantro Alternative

In this video we sow the lesser known South American herb “Papalo”. It’s a heat loving alternative to cilantro! This herb has a very poor germination rate so we will have to keep a close eye on the progress. However, I’m REALLY looking forward to adding this herb to the Brew City Garden!

  1. I use the tiny leaves, (smaller than a finger nail) because they have the most delicate flavor – imagine a citrusy arugula instead of a peppery arugula. The large leaves taste horrible and don't even resemble the delicate flavor of the tiny ones. I use them "as is" on avocados (no need to cut such tiny leaves). You don't even need to make guacamole – just quarter the avocados, squeeze fresh lemon over them and add some sea salt. Top with a liberal amount of tiny papalo leaves. You won't thank me enough!
