  1. Adam, I wish I could PM… won't write an essay.. was absolutely captivated by your watering scene. It has been so difficult having no rain since what, May? That's the daily chore here too – watering. Plants are suffering, for many of us, and it should be documented even though it means being brave about how our plots look; so good job on your documenting! There's some special property in rain that the plants find much more quenching than our watering. Aphids! it is the year of the Aphids along with the Black Fly. (I have flying farmer Ants now – new Queens going out everywhere). I'm humbled and balled over by your shout out… I do need to write an essay lol. But in short … thank you so much for that!! Your channel is immense wondefulness.

  2. Bolted lettuce is very bitter. Better to pull it out and compost or save for seed. Hope you get some rain soon. It's horrendously hot and humid here in the southeast US, but at least we're getting rain.

  3. Rabbits = stew, roasts, fried & taters… Or you can attract a few feral cats. End of bunny issues… Those aphids? Lady bugs…. With all the walking you do you should be able to find enough to take care of the problems. Overall you don't look all to shabby bud considering… Thanx for posting.

  4. There he is! Wow have you ever been busy, so busy in fact you forgot about your allotment. I tell you what mate, it don't look so bad, there is at least stuff going on. I enjoyed watching the watering chore although I'm not sure why you are watering the garlic, it looks ready to pick!
Great vid as always mate and I'll drop you line in a couple of days 🙂

  5. You should put a large barrel under the tap and plunge your watering cans in it for quick refills, while keeping the tap on to keep the barrel full whilst you're watering. Just an idea and what we do.

  6. Cover the soil between plants with mulch (not tree bark), straw, hay, even old newspapers: benefits- slows evaporation, discourages weeds, keeps ground cooler. See utuber Back To Eden. Good luck with the marrow.

  7. I love that you said your lazy because we are many of us but people do not understand it's hard caring that water. Here is one or two tips one you should put a small cut off hose on that water so you do not have to hold the container as you fill it and the best it that you put up a hose or connect two or three together that will reach and you can water everyone's plants but also putting up a sprinkler like to use yo watering grass and then you will be happy happy lol

  8. I think we are all struggling with the weather and lack of time to keep on top of the plot. I don't normally use a hose pipe as I think it waters not only the plants but the weeds and bare ground too + leafs and a lot just evaporates. But today I was so happy when another plot holder offered their hose to borrow! It was still early morning, but it was starting to get very hot, again…

  9. Just me but I see bad soil & no mulch to make it cooler & more food for plants. When it get too warm most of the things you show won't grow. Let them grow and plant something else.
Mulch, mulch mulch even with newspaper would help conserve water.

  10. I have about 10 water butts that I have spread all over lotty.fill them up with hose pipe connected to lotty tap only have to fill them all a couple times a month if it's dry that way I've got water near my plants so don't have to carry watering can far

  11. Yeah you need a hose that’s attached to a hose that’s attached to another hose that’s attached to another hose that’s attached to the water spigot! My flowers would never get watered if I had to walk that far for water, that water would be for Me. 😉

  12. Adam, I think a good deal of us are having similar problems, between weather – too cold, too hot, too wet, too dry – bad seed germination ….. it's definitely not the gardeners. I think times like this teach us all how to be better growers during adverse times. Thanks for the update. Have a lovely week. Catherine

  13. Well sir, it is nice to see you again. I have had your situation in regards to watering and I hate carrying water cans back and forth. Seems you may have a bit of room for additional plants, should you get them out of your house. Well done with the planning my friend, most gardeners foolishly plant everything out and leave very few open beds. I like your style buddy!!! I have a feeling you have had a great summer and I'm happy for you pal. Have a great Sunday:))

  14. There is a bag you cab=n buy that you put in a wheelbarrow and fill with water It is called a H2go bag. Garden centres and equestrian shops sell them but you can get them online too. You might find one useful if it is hot again this year
