  1. Wow how amazingly similar to my journey! I’m at a Nature Center in SJersey doing the exact thing! Cheers & thanks for your inspirational message

  2. Bro, this video is excellent. What an inspiration. So much wisdom in here. My fiancé and I recently started growing some herbs and vegetables, and are learning so much through it. Thanks for your insight James!

  3. thanks for sharing. I have a 10year old food forest I love when new people visit my yard and say holy crap how did you do this. What a joy to pick you lunch or dinner from your yard and a joy to give it away. Joe from jersey.

  4. Reading through the book of Isaiah this summer, the Lord used Isaiah 32:15 to speak to me. I had started gardening after watching The Back to Eden film. There was a passion there, but no knowledge. I just had Isaiah 32:15 that kept encouraging my heart. We have made some progress, though slowly. Though I desire Isaiah 32:15 to happen more in a spiritual sense in fully walking in the light and love of Jesus Christ, there is a parallel going on here with gardening. I am learning so much. God has a special name in Hebrew, Elohim, meaning strong creator. I acknowledge him as strong creator and the giver of life. About His son Jesus Christ He says, "All things were made through Him, and without Him was not anything made that has been made." I have gained a lot of knowledge through your videos and want to thank you. Look up Isaiah 32:15 and let me know what you think.

  5. This summer I was reading through the book of Isaiah, and as I was reading I felt like the Lord was speaking to me through Isaiah 32:15. I had started gardening and then saw the Back to Eden film. We started working on our soil, learning a little more, and all the while I kept thinking of Isaiah 32:15. I strongly desire that this verse would take place fully in my family spiritually as we walk in the light and love of Jesus Christ, but at the same time there seemed to be a parallel taking place in the physical realm with gardening. I have already learned so much since the start of July when all this happened. There is a name for God, Elohim, that means strong creator. I want to acknowledge Him as creator, and also want to acknowledge what he says about his son Jesus Christ, " All things were made by Him, and without Him was not anything made that was made." (Colossians 1:16). It is so awesome to enjoy nature, but it is even more awesome to connect with the Creator of it all. Your videos are so filled with knowledge and inspiration, please keep them up. Oh, and please read Isaiah 32:15. I think you'll be surprised.

  6. Oh my gosh, this really got to me! I've yearning to do a permaculture food forest for a couple of years now – and procrastinating about it – but your words have really spoken to me – that's it! There's no time like the present! 🙂

  7. You have inspired me to go further with my garden. I am starting a food forest that will incorporate what I have started in my raised beds. My neighbors will think I've gone mad but I'm so excited. Thanks JP and Tuck!

  8. I have been drawing garden plans for YEARS 🙂 Round gardens , square gardens, gardens for along walls, corner gardens bordered by brick, shade gardens, trellised gardens, tiered gardens/terraced gardens (I like them) container gardens…bedding plant gardens, herb gardens, veggie gardens, berry patches, pond gardens, fruit orchards, and now a *FOOD FOREST…. this seems the way to go … will ALL be in one place! Will be lovely… I rent for the time being (son's work) will only be here a few more months… have a 15×15 yard here in 8a/8b zone BUT I did plant a raised herb garden this summer.. Like you say "Plant where you are." (That should be a tee-shirt) ONE DAY I will have my own little acre, and I will be READY READY READY . You have taught me a LOT about PRUNING, and about using FENCES in the garden (it is an art form) Thank you for that James. And I love the sliders used to help build the greenhouse (gonna do that) looks good James and MOST MYSTERIOUS BROTHER/CAMERAMAN…. kudos… (Hi Tuck Man! Your No.1 fan Tiki says "WOOF")

  9. I think gardening also teaches you patience. You can't plant a fruit tree and get fruit the next day. You can't plant tomato seeds and get tomatoes in a week.
God is so smart. He didn't put Adam and Eve in the City of Eden, but the GARDEN of Eden. He knows what's best for us. There's nothing wrong with cities, but we also need the garden, the nature and interaction with it.
Tuck is such an integral part of your garden. You can tell he's such a happy little guy.

  10. Lol….! Gardening is my meditation, closer to the nature, closer to life itself! So glad that you found yourself in gardening! That is the truth happiness and health, in both physical and mental! Love your garden, and your lovely little dog! So cute, he is your little garden angel!
