  1. Always so interesting, Patara! Please check out my friend, Martha Lou Perritti's, historical novels about her family. You can find them on Amazon or on her website. Standing Against the Wind, written in Oct 2003, was her first book. This epic tale follows the lives of three Cherokee Indian women through five generations of a family related to the author. Martha Lou has written five books about her family, and two cookbooks. Her website is http://writerofhistoryandheritage.com/ – I think you would enjoy her work.

  2. Thanks so much for sharing this Patara! I have Cherokee and Black Foot from my mom and dad's side. My dad grew up in Milton West Virginia and my great grandma was full blooded Cherokee. I've started my own research of course, but your videos inspire me to dig deeper into my heritage. Thanks again!!

  3. I love all of your videos but my favorites by far are the historical ones. Thank you so much for sharing. My great-great grandmother on my mother's side was Cherokee. She married my great-great grandfather shortly after he immigrated to America from Germany. Without those two and many others, I would not be here.

  4. I pray that SJW’s don’t target such historical records as these in the way of recent removal of statues, renaming of streets, schools and buildings, etc.
I cherish my heritage from my paternal great grandmother. A prized possession is a picture of her in the resplendent dress of her tribe. It’s breathtaking.

  5. I’ve definitely got to see this in person one day… My great grandma’s surname was Vann and was from Augusta, GA… all of her Vann family was born and raised in GA… I’m thinking we are tied to Chief James Vann in some kind of way… what gets more interesting is that my dna testing from Ancestry.com shows that I have some Moravian dna….as well…. some of my Vann Ancestors I’ve managed to find documents of their Cherokee tribal cards as well…. Again… I wouldn’t be surprised if my Vann family is tied to Chief James Vann… my Vann family is African American so it’s very likely my Vann Ancestors were slaves he owned……
