You should keep garden gloves by your Ocra plants.
Thank you Mama! 🙂
Looks delicious and worth trying, thanks for the recipe!
Budget dictates that I get a stand mixer or go to the nursery this month. April in south Texas, bet you can guess which I’ve chosen! 🙂
Pour white vinegar on itchy skin… takes the itch away immediately! Works so well on hives, bug bites, etc
Pretzels look so good!
Try rubbing coconut oil on your hands after okra! Add some turmeric which is an awesome anti inflammatory!
Jess, your itchy hands are probably a latex allergy from the okra juices. I do the same thing when I pick fresh figs from the fig milk. I also can't eat under ripe bananas and avacados. Try wearing non-latex gloves when you pick the okra.
I want to like okra, but I don't know what to do with it.
When i was that age i called the chicken little movie, chicken noodle my mom couldnt convince me otherwise because i couldnt read yet
I like the recipe but its not as chewy as auntie Anne's…what's in auntie Anne's pretzels is wheat flour, water, brown sugar, yeast, salt, and oil. I am going to try using the listed ingredients and see how it turns out. I just don't know what the amounts are that they used to make auntie Anne's but that's what is listed on their ingredients. Dough Mix: Wheat Flour Blend [wheat Flour, Enriched Flour (bleached Wheat Flour, Malted Barley Flour, Niacin, Reduced Iron, Thiamine Mononitrate, Riboflavin, Folic Acid)], Sugar, Contains 2% Or Less Of The Following: Yeast, Dextrose, Salt, Sodium Bicarbonate, Corn Starch, Molasses, Sodium Aluminum Sulfate, Acid Phosphate Of Calcium. Cinnamon Sugar: Sugar, Cinnamon. Baking Soda: Sodium Bicarbonate. Salt: Salt. Yeast: Yeast, Sorbitan Monostearate. The premade one's..Enriched Flour (wheat Flour, Niacin, Reduced Iron, Thiamine Mononitrate, Riboflavin, Folic Acid, Malted Barley Flour), Water, Brown Sugar (sucrose, Invert Sugar, Cane Molasses), Yeast, Dough Conditioner (gum Arabic, Wheat Flour, Mono- And Diglycerides, Salt, Contains 2% Or Less Of The Following: Soybean Oil, Cellulose Gum, Guar Gum, Enzymes), Salt, Calcium Propionate, Natural Flavor (water, Propylene Glycol, Natural Flavors, Xanthan Gum, Citric Acid, Sodium Benzoate, Annatto), Carbonates And Bicarbonates Of Soda. Butter Packet: Anhydrous Milkfat, Natural Flavor (whey, Butter Oil, Corn Syrup Solids, Salt, Guar Gum, Annatto, And Turmeric Color). Salt Packet: Salt.
Actually buying all the listed ingredients is ridiculous I think just buying their premix is the best idea for me at least. Because trying to figure out the recipe from their listed ingredients and buying all the different ingredients like acid phosphate of calcium seems really expensive and ridiculous.
Actually I am trying to make their recipe myslef and I will let you know how it turns out..if it comes out as close as possible to their recipe.
This was a great project to do with the kids. We just had so much fun. Thanks for sharing. We just love your family. Love, my family.

Can you wear gloves when harvesting okra? Gloves in a bag by the wire grating?

Home grown goodness includes children in the "homesteading community"! Need proof? Rewind and watch again and pay attention this time! And since today is May 25, 2021 if you need even more proof, get up to date with present day "Roots and Refuge" for a mind blowing good time. As you will see the aging is done fast but gracefully with deep Godly influences through traditions and close daily walks! It's truly a great blessing to be a channel family member.

That flour tub is quite the step up from the kitchen flour cannister, usually the largest in a set of four. Wow!!
