Was trifecta the fertilizer that you worked into the soil? Hoping so because I have most of a bag that I got this summer. I use grow bags for my gardening and my garlic harvest this year was only fair- I'm hoping trifecta and your other tips will improve next year's harvest.

Your 2 inch apart in more like 3 or 4 inches. 7 cloves should take 14 to 16 inches. You have 2 to 3 ft for 7 cloves. Just curious why.

Planted my garlic last week and there already sprouting, don't know if I leave it or have to cut it back, I plant every year this never happen b4.
Question: I live in Ontario Canada zone 4, every year I plant garlic in the fall and harvest by late July. I soon will be planting garlic but some bulbs from last fall decided to sprout now late October when it is almost time to plant. These garlic from last fall are now almost 12” high, so do I cut these back before snow comes down or leave them. We do get lots of snow here. I am not the only one with this problem, need some help.

Should you cover the bed with mulch to protect from the cold weather?
Once planted do you cover the garlic with leaves or straw to protect from the elements? ….snow ,ice, frost. We live in Massachusetts.
