We have to get our new trees into the ground, so today we are planting the backyard orchard. The plan with the trees is to continue them along the fence line with our orchardist neighbours to match the current trees on the property. Being beside a cherry orchard means our property is exposed to a lot of non organic sprays, and we hope that these trees can catch some of that spray to shelter our future market garden. The best time to plant a tree is 20 years ago, but the least we can do is get these in today. Thanks to Skylar, my brother, for giving us a hand today.
