Dude! This video is about 6 hours old. I installed 3 hydrants about 3 days ago! GAAAA! Timing!
Question for you: My hydrants are where they are. Could I run "mains" from each hydrant around my field blocks as required and then T off from them and put timers on those Ts AS IF those "Ts and timers" were "hydrants and timers" in this video? I'm basically treating a hydrant like a "well" and T-ing off from the mains with timers. Is that feasible? Problems with that?
What type of wobblers are used? Also, if you do use drip are you having to install pressure reducers at each hydrant?

Hey a good tip for everybody installing the hydrants, most people just bury the hydrant in gravel but the little drain can become plugged so I always install a short brass nipple & elbow in the drain, up size that to a length of one inch PVC with slits cut in it with a hacksaw. It acts sort of like a strainer to keep dirt out of the drain hole. Also if you ever suspect your hydrant may not be turning off completely you can press your ear to the handle or a screwdriver that's touching the hydrant & listen. You will then be able to hear it even if it has the slightest leak.
how do you keep lines and pipes from freezing during cold snaps?
I find using over the top of the ground mainlines from manifolds where I can have water filters and pressure regulators. works better than sinking all this infrastructure into the ground. I use quick connects so I can remove all the above-ground lines and store them for the winter. Be glad to send you photos if interested in an alternative much less expensive system then the one in this video.
Curtis i was wondering, do you need to test the quality of the water you use for only irrigation wells. I live in an area in nebraska where we can drive sand points wells and get water at 12 ft. Should i have the water test before using it for irrigating the garden and use in the greenhouse
How big is each block? I have 4 acres and am trying to divide up my blocks. I will be trenching new underground lines.
