  1. Levi, I would like to tell you that I appreciate your explanations. I feel digging transplant holes bigger around might help remove such obstacles as young plants roots grab hold to establish themselves. I would appreciate you thoughts.

  2. I can't believe you didn't say water one time…
    Plants don't know where to grow they have no memory they react to stimuli. In all cases, water is required for this. The term is called Hydrotropism.

  3. 'Cause nothing stimulates a lull in the conversation more than… Calcium uptake and apoplastic reactive oxygen species? Ok this is why I have no friends

  4. I didn't know they were called RHD2, but since I have 4"-6" of loose soil on top of hard clay, I know exactly what happens to my daikon radishes. The root does not grow sideways. The top does. Makes for a bizarre looking vegetable.

  5. Roots also follow the direction of the Van Allen Belt North (Northern Hemisphere) and South (Southern Hemisphere) electro magnetism. For large root plants, plant rows East to West so roots don't bump into each other.
