I tried to grow buttercrunch lettuce outside, but the heat turned them bitter. Any tips to help combat this? I want to grow it commercially. Greetings from northern Michigan:)
1:48 What varieties?
How's the flavor?
Isn't hot weather lettuce usually more bitter than its cool weather counterpart?
Great information!!!
Great info!
Love the Ray. Hope the snow isn't crushing him this winter. Thanks for the content Mr Curtis!
"I'm quiting Youtube – not clickbait!!!"
Got a tip from a lady growing lettuce in Florida in August years ago. Flavor was sweet and wonderful (not bitter). I tried it in Missouri in our August 100 degree heat. Had to keep it watered (used drip irrigation). Best lettuce I ever produced. Variety: Ermosa
Great video ! Tennessee can get very hot and humid and they have a lot of insects too ! Especially mosquitoes !!! Thanks !
money money money
Can you grow mustard greens in Tn in July and August, now that would be something
Please! More on how to grow in HEAT! I Live in the Philippines!! We dont got lettuce!!!lol
Great videos!
Yes.
I've been to Ray's Farm and toured it with him. He's a humble guy that enjoys sharing his knowledge. As someone who has joined his lettuce class, the content is very detailed and the Q&A's he provides allows the ability to fill in the gaps with any questions you may have. Highly recommend!!
Great video! Thanks for sharing but did you really just encourage people to package in clam shells?? As small farmers we have a responsibility to the planet that sustains us. We must educate the masses that clam shells are unnecessary garbage, even when recyclable.
holy crap, i've been noticing this stuff with my lettuce growing also, I think this Dude just solved my problems for me 🙂 , I live in similar conditions as him up in Wisconsin, but we have shorter seasons here, and gets hella cold in the winter
Can also try Adriana lettuce and like said before Ermosa does well for us in Florida.
Hi:) im from the philippines, can lettuce grow in zone 12?
Wich varieties of lettuce can withstand heat and humidity.. I made out Cherokee but couldn't make out the other variety he said.
The host should turn to the farmer instead of staring at the camera
Thank you for your valuable content and information Curtis 🙂
What is the elevation on this area?
I'm planting lettuce here in the Philippines hydroponially, but my plants keep on bolting even I covered it with shade net… any tips?
What was the temperature when this video was done?
Is his course still available? I dont see a link in the description
What fertilizer and pesticides do you use for lettuce
I couldn’t hear the 2 varieties lettuces ? What’s the 2 lettuces call?
Are you still offering this course?
Too bad employing a clamshell of plastic to boost the lettuce price two bucks.
