So glad he spoke about leeks and broad beans. I live in Florida USA and have never tried either of them. I am going to try and grow them this fall, and am very excited about both of them.

Hi! I am starting a garden, but I have an important question; "Should I plant the tallest plant rows (the length) going from East to West, or North to South?" I don't want to shade out smaller plants, but I am confused..
Are broad beans the same as Lima beans?

Can you use rhubarb to maintain an edge on your garden? The grass creeps into the beds every year and the only corner that never really requires any maintenance is where the rhubarb is growing (the large leaves block light from reaching the ground underneath). I've tested some plastic sheeting this year and it seems to be working for the purpose I wanted although it seem to have also increased slug activity which isn't amazing since allot of my plants are getting eaten.
