**NOTE** I STATED THAT YOU SHOULD ADD 2 LITERS OF WATER TO EACH BALE. THAT’S INCORRECT IT SHOULD BE 4 LITERS! PLEASE EXCUSE MY POOR AMERICAN CONVERSION** LOL….
In this installment of the bale garden conditioning series we cover day one of the conditioning process. On day one we will add 1 cup (100 grams) of high nitrogen fertilizer to each bale and water it in with approximately 1 gallon (4 liters) of water. This begins the process of activating the bacteria in the bales to facilitate the composting/conditioning process. Be sure to follow along for the whole process to ensure your best success with the bale gardening method. Thanks for watching!

Awesome job done! Day one down and the count down in now on. Looking forward to seeing those bales cook out. Yeah I don't really measure out how much fertilizer I add. I just make sure the bale is covered good. I always say one cup but it is more like between a half to whole cup. The bales I use are cut sideways so it takes a bit more to get them cooking. Like you said there is no masters degree needed to figure all this out. LOL. Keep up the good work and we will see ya on day #2. Have a great day buddy!
Great explanation on the process. We are excited for seeing how ours do.
Take care,
Rob

I LOVE that shirt. One of my favorite movies of all time. The only movie I can watch that I don't mind singing. lol
That is how I water my plants. I count to about 10 secs for each plant. However, with the beds being expanded, I need to install this drip irrigation system to help with the maintenance of the garden.
Would a soaker hose work better on those hale bales?
Would human urine work at a 5:1 solution?
