  1. A person with a commercial orchard told me to "prune your peach trees until you feel like crying." Every year we'd thin out a 5 gal pail or more of small peaches from one semi-dwarf tree. We pruned the branches of the tree severely every year. The space between the developing peaches will determine the size and quality of fruit you'll harvest. We thin our peaches when they're hard green nubbins in June to 4" apart. This is good practice for apples and apricots, too. You get a higher pulp to pit ratio this way.

"Reliance" peach is very cold hard to something like 20 degrees minus zero. It's good for freezing. "Gleason Elberta" is excellent for canning. We grew both plus regular "Elberta."

  2. I am in NJ too. Your videos are very inspiring. Even my son who had no interest in gardening has started helping me in the garden after watching your videos. Thank you.

  3. Tuck has an adorable little face! I love to see you & Tuck interact. It's plain to see that he is treated well and has a "large and in charge" attitude, which I love to see in little creatures.
