Self Sufficient Me is based on our small 3-acre property/homestead in SE Queensland Australia about 45kms north of Brisbane – the climate is subtropical (similar to Florida). I started Self Sufficient Me in 2011 as a blog website project where I document and write about backyard food growing, self-sufficiency, and urban farming in general. I love sharing my foodie and DIY adventures online so come along with me and let’s get into it! Cheers, Mark ๐Ÿ™‚

  1. I have a seed grown apple tree. It's about 9 months old now. Growing really well so far. I guess I have to wait a long time before I'll get any fruits on it though. XD But one day I'll test it and see if it's a good one or not. ๐Ÿ˜›

  2. Doesn't it matter what the property soil is. I can add soil for the vegie gardens but I live in coastal salty sugar sand. White beach sand. I have to bring in soil fir the vegies. Nothing good here for any tree on our property.
