Very good point about lighter fluid and trash in the ash. I have alotta nasty stuff in my ash.
We have a fire pit, and my husband has been putting wood ash in our garden for years. Yep, it works.
Not telling you any secrets. Lol
The side benefit is you're adding char to the soil and it will self activate after a wile. Good story.
Toooo long of an intro bud!
Well you should never share a Secret and Definitely not one you Swear you won't share.
I'm amazed at the lack of respect this generation had for previous generations. If the farmer gave his word it ment something. Now days people's word means nothing.
yak yak yak no content untill way later byby

You promised and now you're telling ? Now you're taking 15 min To get to the point ?
Brah, shut up already…this should have been 1:30
The larger the tree, the deeper the roots go into the soil pulling up minerals that are deficient in soil today. So using wood ash in your beds provides balanced minerals, too.
Quite a patronising narrative towards elderly people…and not a secret…those of with wood fires have been doing this for years.
wood ash from pine trees is acidic not alkaline hardwood ash is alkaline
Fabulous Information!!
if someone shares a secret and requests you dont tell everyone then you dont. No respect ! you cant be told anything now
So in laymans terms, start out by making your soil acidic and keep it that way for the vigorous foliage and vine growth and then when they are looking really good and heading towards maturity cut that process out and let the soil go to neutral and then start adding potash to swing it to a more alkaline setting for the flowering process until the fruit is ripe. I have a strange feeling all plants would do well with this system.
I dont think I did it that way and I didnt know for sure whether it was good or bad to do but I had a hunch ashes might be nutritious and I did work it into my tomato soil. They were thriving beautifully but I'm starting to wonder if I'm missing something because they dont look as healthy as before. Lots of fruit, foliage turning yellow and dying..
