I haven't ever made my own sauce. I want a food mill so badly. One day.
I made pasta sauce last week with commercial Roma tomatoes I got for free. I had peeled them before freezing. I just blended them to make a nice thick sauce. Canned them all. Will be a long time before I buy commercial pasta sauce again.
I’ve heard using a mill to remove skins and seeds improves the flavour. I just use and immersion blender because I don’t have a food mill. Still tastes good. Good informative video on how you do it.
