  1. Please everyone be very careful with raw juice. After watching this video I thought it was an amazing idea. So I went to my local farm store (trying to buy local) I made a spinach, carrot, cucumber and apple juice. That day I became severely ill with diarrhea and high fever. I have now been ill for 14 days with 104 fevers. To the emergency room twice. Put through every test and than diagnoses with camphylobacter food poisoning. I am now on antibiotics and still getting high fevers and havr fallen so far behind on my farm. I am truelly depressed. Nothing against roots a refuge but people need to know the risks.

  2. I love juicing, but I get so hungry after. So I add back some pulp and a handful of ground oats and it keeps me full longer because of the fiber back added.
I love your honesty on juicing, no fake claims, no gimmicks just adding it to a healthy diet thanks for all you do!

  3. Just followed this pretty closely using a George Foreman juicer that I was given and had sitting in the back of the cupboard unused (never been a juice person). Used my Home Grown Swiss Chard in place of Kale, but everything else the same as the baseline recipe.

The Apples and Cucumber were store bought, but the celery, Carrots and Lemon our own as well as the chard. Diluted it 50-50 with filtered water so as not to get too much of a sugar hit, and was delighted with the flavour.

Thumbs up, will do again especially once I have my own homegrown cucumbers to try in it :).

  4. I have diabetes and CAD and had a quadruple bypass two and a half years ago. When I first got out of the hospital I couldn’t even walk anymore. I dealt with crushing depression and thought I’d never be able to garden again. I started trying anyway and spent more and more time in the garden. This year my garden was beautiful and I’m able to do almost everything I want to do. I planted two hundred tulips this past month and we have prepared a brand new vegetable bed that we will plant up next year……it’s nothing short of a miracle.

  5. We have the same 2 juicers.
We got the Omega first .. . . yes, it takes much longer . . . yes, much more food prep . . . but the juice is way better.
Breville is very quick . . . but, no, the juice is not as intense or delicious.
As for cleaning . . I've found they both take about the same time.
I wear ear plugs for my noisy appliances.

And, yes, both of them are great for adding to the compost bin.

  6. After watching this video, I decided to take a chance and buy a juicer. I’m glad I did. The juice is refreshing, tasty, and very filling, plus it satisfies my sweet tooth. My juicer leaves a lot of waste, so I run the discards through a second time. I’ll keep this one until it dies, and then splurge on one that’s a higher quality, and does a better job on leafy greens.

  7. You might add wheatgrass to your juice for a super boost of nutrition. It is super cheap and easy to grow year round. On that point, I'm surprised your garden doesn't produce enough veggies to supply you! You can store carrots in sawdust and freeze kale maybe. But, kudos to you for sticking to juicing! And it is noticeable how much better and healthier you both look! Throw some herbs and wild edibles in there for added nutrition. I grab a few eaves of dandelion, sage, oregano, mint, maybe a tiny stevia leaf, and maybe a couple plantain leaves and creeping Charlie leaves just because they grow in my yard and garden. Also, lambs quarters which is very common, very mild, tastes like spinach and much more nutritious than kale or spinach! My grandson likes to help me make juice and he nicknamed it dinosaur juice! When kids participate, choose to add dandelion leaves, etc, they are more likely to drink it. I add extras into my wheatgrass juice, too, especially fresh mint. Just add more water to the juice if don't like the grassy taste!Keep up the good work! Hugs!

  8. hey jess! Omg Ive been watching you for a couple months now and I love you! You have inspired me to share my journey to self sustainability and REAL food lifestyle on Youtube! This video is awesome and is exactly what I needed to hear. Ive struggled with my health, with regards to my weight for half my life. I just wanted to say.. PLEASE keep doing what you do! Because of you, I now have the courage to put my story out there for all to see.

  9. I love your attitude, Jess.
My favourite juice is a cucumber, 3-4 celery sticks, 3-4 carrots, a small beetroot and a few apples.
For a special treat on Friday afternoons I like to have it with a shot of vodka, using a small inner celery stick as a swizzle stick.
    The colour is amazing..

  10. You can add the pulp to soups or stews, I add it to my dogs raw food diet. And Jessica try a wee piece of ginger in that same recipe, you won't be disappointed.

  11. I juice every day carrots usually being the base, because they are cheap in bulk, plus i like the foundation flavor it creates. I have an Omega 900 and the Nama 5800 and loving both very much, on occasion i will take the pulp from what i juice and mix it in 3rds with 1 lbs. ground turkey, chicken, pork or beef, with equal size/amount long grain steamed white rice and 2 cups of the veg pulp, and 4 to 6 fresh eggs then add seasonings that create breakfast sausage flavor or spice it up with like black pepper onion powder and garlic powder with like a bit of Lawry's salt to taste for proper burger status then make patties and separate them with wax paper bag and freeze. So i make big fat burgers with these patties and don't have any regrets, you just have to cook the patties on a low heat with some butter or oil in the pan and flip often to keep the egg from browning out on you, these patties are awesome cooled off and served like a cold cut for sandwiches too and work great on the grill also! thanks for all your vids Jess

  12. Good morning Sparkle! I started making smoothies, just putting fresh fruit and vegies in a blender with freshly ground chia and flax seeds for omega 3's and drinking them every morning. I started 3 years ago and no longwer have arthritis, lupus or candida. GOOD NUTRITION RULES!I never eat fast food white sugar or processed food.
