VIDEO: Futuristic Shipping Container Farm!

Vertical farming, indoor farming, and hydroponic farming all rolled into one! Welcome to the tour of The Greenery by my friends Jon and Brad of Freight Farms. I got a SNEAK PEEK of their newest shipping container farm, designed to produce 2-4 TONS of food per year.

This particular unit will be growing calendulas hydroponically, and in today’s video we walk you through every component of the unit and their vertical farming technology. Thanks to Freight Farms for having me out!

  1. Love ur videos. I get great ideas about how to keep my plants happy. But Plz help how do I keep the green house warm during the winter it getting a little cold here in Texas 40 F to 50 F nights .. and I have a little green house with my tropical plant tht i dont have room for inside the house . I try to look for solar power heater and lights but dont know which one is best.

  2. I love the technology but it saddens me that we have to resort to cubicles like this in crowded urban areas instead of being able to spread out and use natural sun and land.

  3. Why put your PH sensors in the panels with the peristaltic pumps and not in the tank itself? Are you using OPC-UA with an SQL database to store to a cloud or an MQTT protocol and storing logged data on a local server?

  4. Wow!! What a cool tour. Super clean, organized, and hi tech set up. I would think that the concrete bridge adds some additional protection from the environment. Thanks for sharing!! Also, my phone has the exact same cracks in it. Tripped me out for a sec.
