  1. Great review ..i already keep bottled water my son and his wife like to keep it especially for on the go..but I'm going to eventually do a water catchment system for showering ..laundry which probably should be filtered as well but I think the berkey would be a good investment for extra drinking water coffee tea cooking anything digestive..i don't think I'll mind in on my counter I think it's pretty

  2. I couldn't live without my Berkey. You're right. It spoils you so much. Water never tastes this good anywhere else. I even have the Sprot Berkey that my daughter bought me and I used it for my nine day hospital stay. I use it all the time, and if I don't take that out with me, I take Berkey water in a stainless steel water bottle. Everyone should have a Berkey!

  3. So the filters take out 99.99% of anything that ends up in the water or that is put in the water. But they don't remove fluoride? which is added to the water. So after all that the one thing most people are concerned about with tape water is fluoride and so you have to buy extra filters for that? Which makes fluoride that 0.9899%. I think i'll wait until they remove the fluoride also at no extra cost.

  4. I have the same one!! I like the metal spout though. Also, I have been fighting myself about the stand. At the moment, it just hangs out in our breakfast nook. Kind of awkward, yes, but the kids can reach it. Thanks!

  5. I’ve recently been watching a ton of your videos! I’ve loved them all! I was researching Berkey and your video came up! I hadn’t seen this one yet! I have known I wanted a Berkey for a while I have a few family members who have them!! So happy you had a link! I used it today! I hope it helps your channel in some way I really appreciate all your skill, knowledge and time you put into teaching me! Thanks again! God bless!

  6. We have the 1 gal Berkey that I keep on our RV. Camp ground water can sometimes be a little funky but the Berkey really, really helps make "camping water" taste like bottled water without having to carry all of that bottled water around. We love it!

  7. Are you sure? Anyone can just read what a company says! But how do you know they are legit??? Because you want to believe?? Did send the water to a lab? Send pretreated water then Berkey filtered Sample of the same water. It us crazy how many people simply believe without facts.

  8. You have said zero facts but a bunch of opinions. Sorry but it's true! Peace of mind? How? You literally have no facts on your Berkey ability outside what the company told you.

Now is you paid for an independent lab tests then ok!

  9. Las Vegas water tastes horrible imgs.love/BerkeyWFilter?... I've used a Brita for years but it still tastes awful. I saw this and heard you can put pond water in and it's drinkable. I wondered if this could do the impossible- make Las Vegas water actually taste amazing. I decided to give it a try because I hate buying bottled water. I love that this isn't plugged into anything and it's aesthetically pleasing. Anyway, the Berkey has worked like a dream and I love how the water tastes!

  10. I want to get this filter sooooo bad but the only thing stopping me is the certification. I just can’t look past it. It’s just so fishy they won’t get tested by third party. I don’t buy that’s it’s the price. Smaller companies are certified. That’s literally the only thing stopping me from getting this filter. After doing so much research I just don’t want to drink city water or bottled water. And most filters are “cheap” but we drink a lot of water and with time they become very expensive and too much plastic.

  11. Hi Jess! I know this post is about 8 months old….I wanted to know, have you traveled with this system? Have you attempted to run pond water or other sourced water through your system? Does it have the same taste as if you had run your house water through the system? In other words, Does the water taste the same no matter the source of the water, or does different water give you a different taste even though it's run through the filter? I've read through the Berkey site before, although not recently, and it says it doesn't prefer high iron water sources and water that has been run through a water softener. Is your house water straight well water? Do you have high iron or other minerals in your water? If you have the high mineral or iron content, do you need to clean the outer part of your filter…how often?

  12. Could you take two empty jugs, and fill them with the filtered water in the jugs and put in the fridge, or put some aside, to have filtered extra In case you need more water, or have company ?

  13. I would suggest getting the spigot with the glass tube so you can see how much water is in the bottom. It does not take long to filter water but I like to keep it 3/4 full in case of total power loss.

  14. I purchased the Crown Berkey in October 2020. In February 2021 the big freeze happened in South Texas and we were told to boil the water. I didn't have to fight for water at the grocery stores or boil my drinking water because I had kept my 8 gallon Berkey full.

  15. I find it interesting California will not let Berke sell or ship to CA! Northern Ca in farmland has arsenic in their water! You think they would want filters to protect the people!

  16. Thank you! This review was very useful. We just got ours in the mail today and it is almost all set up. We got the same size that you have. It was expensive but at least we know we will be drinking quality water.

  17. You know the Berkeley is not certified to remove any contaminants except chlorite. Brita pitcher and Brita faucet filters are NSF certified for contaminant reduction.

To be NSF certified, the filter has to be tested at 100% capacity fir standard 42 and 200% capacity for standard 53. For the Berkley that’s 3000 and 6000 gallons. Berkley tested their filters with 50 gallons for standard 42 and as little as 0.5 liters for some standard 53 contaminants.

The Brita pitcher and faucet filters are NSF certified and actually do remove health effects contaminants over the life of the filters.

  18. The The Berkey systems are wildly popular with a devoted cult-like following as well as being expensive so as far as their excuse that having their water filtration systems tested and certified by independent labs is not cost effective is a load of bs. That dog don't hunt. Let's see the independent test numbers, not fanster testimonials.
