Here in the USA, they sell a product that helps the greens stay fresh. In fact, one brand is called Stay Fresh. Personally, I use a fake tree. Reason being that I have no way of disposing of a live tree. Very good information, Adam. Thanks for sharing.

Glad your foot is better, Adam. We have a 'rent a Christmas tree' thing going on at the farm where my site is.. not sure how that works. You've lovely wide choice of tree, thank you for going through the various varieties, very helpful to quite a few of us. I have a realistic looking fake 2ft one, its not up yet .. Cheers — Elly

We cheated we have a small tree made out of feathers.. retirement! New friend Ruthie here
We grow trees for export in nova soctia, most are balsam fir. Buyer's are starting to lean toward a more natural looking tree less shearing. Cheers
