My favorite are black beans but Lee and our son Daniel prefer pinto.
No point in making soup or pinto beans if'n you ain't gonna make corn bread.
I think you are awesome!!!
I love putting zucchini relish in the beans when I get ready to eat them.
what happened to that Three rivers cornmeal from Tennessee… oh yes girl you said it CHOW CHOW.. Baking soda to keep you from getting gassy
Thank you! I'd say my husbands favorite bean is pinto but I'm game for any type of bean. 🙂
Pintos are my favorite
I take a cup of dried washed beans, put them in a quart jar and pressure can them. Makes it real handy
and a glass of sweet tea.
My dad seldom drank beer, but when he made ham and beans he would get a couple of quarts of cheap beer, the cheaper the better, he said for cooking. He soaked his beans in water as you do, but after draining and rinsing them, he covered them with beer. Also there was a chopped onion, and a handful of med/hot crushed peppers that came from his garden and he had dried on a string that went in with the ham, about half a day after the beans had been started.
No wonder my crockpot beans aren't up to snuff, I wasn't cookin' them long enough. I figured a full day ought to do it, I don't know why it didn't occur to me to cook them longer. I've been babysitting beans on the stove for no reason! Thanks for sharing, I can't wait to try your way!
I like to mix pinto's and cranberry beans….yummy
I use my crockpot as much as my insta pot
Loved this! My favorite bean is a mixture of beans with molasses. It was what my Mom cooked for Christmas, often with ham. Love your videos. Thanks
Cranberry beans are my favorite.
Dang that looks good!
What do you do if you have super hard water I cooked beans today and after 7 hrs still hard soaked them 24 hrs before cooking
We use fat back(salt pork). They are great.
We grew up on beans and cornbread with some poke greens. Love it! My favorites are pintos, but I like them all.
Cant wait to start my beans.I love white beans.we call them navy beans.and corn bread and onions.yummy
Mmmm, I add white rice. OMG looks good. Heck yes.
oh wow this looks so amazing. Thanks for sharing beautiful.
Thanks, I am looking to make some in a day or two. I don't eat pork, so maybe without meat or smoked turkey?
If you in the future are concerned with saving electricity. Buy an Insta pot and cook them in it. Does a great job, quickly. Was utterly surprised.
I love onions and learn salt pork in my beans.
All these suggestions of sides, my favorite is cole slaw, and cornbread isn’t a side, it’s a necessity.
