VIDEO: Spring Update 2 9 2020

It is starting to look like spring around here! The plum tree is blooming and we are trying to hand pollinate it this year in hopes of actually getting some plums, lol! Our daffodils and peach trees are starting to bloom. We have planted our Candy onions again this year. We are also trying the Red Candy onions. We have a variety of spring plants started from seed in flats and are just waiting for them to get big enough to set out in the garden. Thanks for watching!!

  1. I'm happy to see y'all are back! So excited for spring planting this year, we have our scales and harvest bowls ready! I'm going to weigh and record everything this year. Our strawberries are looking great. Congratulations on working on your specialist's degree! Have a great week!

  3. Well it looks like spring is coming a little bit early in Mississippi for sure. Here in Northwestern Massachusetts the only thing we got on the ground the snow. But here in a couple more months thing should turn around for us as well. Thanks for sharing my friend.

  4. My mom loves to grow plums, and I'm always disappointed by them. I've never once seen a plum that doesn't have a mark from a bug or a worm that nibbled on it. She's the same about peaches, and she's got two new peach trees to plant this year, but I just don't think we're far enough North. We're in zone 8A Maybe? One time, 30 years ago, She got a tree full of delicious nectarines, and it has just given her a fever which she can't seem to get past. We haven't seen nectarines or peaches like that ever since. And if her peach trees do make a few fruit, typically the squirrels get them. Love your videos, I love your accent because I have a South Georgia accent, and I got your channel by looking at your strawberry videos from a couple years ago.

  5. Great update Lea! Thanks for letting us know why you have not been on. I feel better knowing everything is ok. You and Al have been busy already! I am glad you got your fence back! Please say "hi" to Al for me, looking forward to your next update!!!
