Strawberry Plants Need Maintenance. A mother Strawberry plant lasts anywhere from 3 to 5 years before it starts to lose production, and then wear itself out. Or so it seems!
Join me in Part 1 of this video series where I pull apart a 4 year old Strawberry Mother Plant and see just what is going on in that mass of plants, crowns, and leaves. You’ll see that Strawberry Plants don’t actually age and fade away. Rather, they grow so many individual crowns within themselves that they out compete each other, giving the illusion, of a aging plant.
So let’s dive in and see what that looks like, pull apart the many crowns of an adult Strawberry plant, and then divide them up individually for potting and transitioning into the garden.

I have strawberry plants and the leaves of some of them keep turning brown and crunchy at the edges. How do i fix this ?

Strawberry plant grows on the northern part of the Philippines where the weather is cold. But I will try here if I have seeds
I know little about strawberries. I noticed yesterday that my two pots of strawberry plants had survived winter for the 2nd time. Had very few strawberries last year. Will watch what you do.
Perfect timing… i forgot to tend to my strawberries in the tower that never went dormant during the winter. I prob need to prune the deformed blooms off and feed them. I look forward to more on this subject. Thanks!
I love fresh strawberries. I've never tried growing them, though. My neighbor tried and from what I could see, they didn't do well. I think it gets too hot here during summer, especially.
I have a square meter of wild strawberry in my lawn that doesn't really make many berries. Do you think this would still apply?
They're the tiny little ones, barely larger than a pea, but incredibly sweet and tasty. They grow through out my back lawn, but I have one big patch in particular….

Many years ago I took over an allotment which contained strawberries that were suffocating in weeds. I save over 100 plants reaping yields of good quality strawberries by replacing old mother plants each year. These are so easy to manage and grow.
Thanks mate. Just divided a plant I dug out of the lawn years ago and kept on life support in a pot. Put one crown in a compost and the other in water as it had ants in the pot.

Hi there, man. I have some really big strawberry plants which are around three to four years old. I've never prunned the runners, so the plants have spread a lot. The leaves are huge. This season (it's summer here in 5 days time) they are not producing much fruit – probably one or two strawberries per day at the most.. I suspect the plants have gotten too big. My question is, would it be okay to divide the plants up now while they are fruiting? If I did divide them up now, would they still continue to produce fruit this season, or would they stop producing fruit when I divide them up?
What happened when there’s burning around the edge of the leaves?
