I have some zucchini seeds from the 2012 growing season. I probably bought them that year with the intention of growing them. However, I didn't do that. Last year, when I decided to grow in fabric pots, I didn't even think about those seeds until July. I think it was around the middle of the month. I planted 3 seed each in 2 of my pots. One seed in each pot sprouted. Only one seedling survived. When it really started growing it grew fast. But, we got our first frost at the end of September. I did find a baby zucchini about 4" long and maybe 3/4" thick. I ate it and it did taste like a zucchini. Maybe if I had planted the seeds in May it may have made a difference.
Do you make your own potting mix?
I am making my own raised beds and am not sure what to fill it up with.
Final video in the Zucchini Series is up! Get those guys into the ground once the weather allows!: https://youtu.be/K21vezsUfSs
Zucini are they strictly a summer vegetables..
I live in South Africa but we are now in fall going into winter. In the region I live we seldom get snow but we have extremely cold winter's and frost. Would I be wasting my time trying to grow them now ….. I wanted to plant in pots with upright TP trellis.
Your advice❔
Hi there i just got zucchini seeds. Am in San Diego is it too late to sow zucchini seeds now in the garden?
You are the only gardener who shows how to plant the Zucchini seed to it's germination. Thank you on how to grow my zucchini.
Please suggest zucchini seed pots must be in the tray of water for three or five days, or water is removed after two hours and then covered.
I grow my 1st raised bed garden this past summer 2020 and I had 2 beautiful zucchinis plants that later in the season died because of vine bore bugs. How can I protect next summers' zucchini plants from these bugs?
Thanks from india rajasthan
So cool. Can I start them indoors now in Zone 8b?
