Bush beans are my favorite style of bean due to the versatility you have in how you choose to grow them. They also work well in small apartment or urban gardens as you can cram a ton of green beans in a vertical system, or even grow them in containers.
As we continue in our gardening for beginners videos, I think learning how to grow beans is a great foray into a more ‘complex’ plant than leafy greens or herbs, but without upping the difficulty too much.

Check out our long beans growing on our tremendous trellis structure! Vertical all the way!
Did you ever find a solution to the nutrient run off problem with the discoloration on each tier?
50 beans is mah guess sir!
Are bean plants not capable of continuously producing beans? Do you have to replant a new plant each time?
Your beans are dark green because all the water has pooled towards the bottom, it's the lack of fresh oxygen in the soil that's turning the leaves dark green…
How old are the starts?
Not sure why but this weekend, I have been OBSESSED with your channels. Like I have watched around 10 hours of content the last three days alone. :0
Although it is great information, so thank you for providing the content
Shame these aren't readily available in UK. At least I couldn't find them
Great video – very helpful. Did a few beans in the Greenstalk last year – now I have some great info on how to maximize the bean harvest and diagnose any nutrient issues!
can this system be commercialized? in my country green beans is one of the best "high-price" produce but I am not sure if I should put the capital in expanding my hydroponics farm.
Do you have issues with mice or rats and the greenstalk vertical garden? The ones we have here eat everything… including some of my succulents. 🙁
what do you use to control spider mites?
This is the kind of video i like, it shows the beginning and how things turn out, wish more of them were like this
I just bought one, can you grow strawberries and beans in there at the same time?
How do you treat spider mites?
So I I’m growing three beans per pocket. Do you think that’s a bad idea? It’s only on the bottom tier.
Can I ask how many bean plants you planted per pocket?
I’m very disappointed in the Greenstalk company. I just purchased a Leaf for my strawberries because their website & on the materials I received said it was fine to plant strawberries in the Leaf, only to find they are no longer recommended for overwintering strawberries in the Leaf per the inventor’s daughter on the GreenStalk Gardeners closed FB group. I reached out to the company, and customer service said I’d have to pay $25 to return it & then order an Original. It’s unfair to ask the customer to pay for their marketing mistake. I was so excited for such a neat concept, but it’s not a good company.
300 beans! I love your apron! I would love that!
I'm growing bush beans. I moved them outside, but they do NOT like the heat and seem to fry within minutes. I'm having to constantly move them around my yard (sunlight shade, etc) and then I'm bringing them back inside at night. They are in containers, but there has got to be an easier way to do this, or one spot that I can just leave them in all the time. They are about five inches high right now. Any tips are appreciated!
I purchased the towers, following your advice. Thank you so much !
What is a good companion plant to put in the container with green beans?
My guess is 31
Ive been trying to plant beans all spring and the gophers keep pulling them out. Trying a gutter method soon.
I would like to know if you ever hooked this planter into your irrigation system. If so, HOW
