  2. Do you mow over your straw to get the pieces smaller for mulching? The straw you use seems shorter and less thick than the straw bales I see for sale here in MInnesota.

  3. I’ve had such problems growing zucchini that I just stopped growing them. I would like to see how to prune them and what to do if you get the white powder on the leaves. I heard that once you get that it’s nearly impossible to get rid of it.

  4. I planted zucchini last year and was a disaster. I got one mini fruit out of 4 big plants. The main stem was was tall, lots of male flowers but no female flowers.. what could be the reason?

  5. Great video. 2 questions: it looked like you did not cut the newspapers at the planting spot, how would the plant go through it? (maybe i just missed that part) Second: aren't you afraid of using newspapers as cover? Doesn't the plant suck the chemicals from it? Thanks and cheers from Hungary.

  6. I started my zucchini from seed way too early. At this point, I am about 1 week away from the last frost in my area. My plants are already producing zucchini. They are now in 18 cm terra cotta pots in the greenhouse by night and outside by day. Their leaves are starting to turn yellow. I'm guessing they have outgrown these pots. But it's still too early to plant them out. What happens if I plant them outside and the temps are around 6-10 degrees C at night? We might even get one night still with frost temps. Is there anything I can do to protect them outside now? Thank you!!!

  7. I just started my seedlings 2 weeks ago and they are already 4 inches high with big pair of leaves. It is already hot outside so I was wondering if I can plant these now in the outdoor garden or wait until it has at least 3 leaves? Thanks!
