Time To Plant Tomatoes In Your Spring Garden! Part 3 of 3. Tomatoes are the most popular garden crop of all time. They are easy to grow, transplant well, come in a zillion different varieties, and are delicious. Everyone loves growing them!
If you live in the Northern Hemisphere however, your growing season is finite, and often too short to properly ripen tomatoes that are directly seeded into the garden. Now that we’ve followed the process and made our own Tomato starts, we can finally envision our epic crops of Tomatoes!
In this video, I show you how I take the tomato seedling we started in Part 1, then nurtured and moved along in Part 2, and plant into your spring garden. Hi would like to know if Pine Needles are okay to use to mulch around tomatoes? Thank you!
What varieties do the best in summer heat for you? What's the most fruitful large size tomato variety you've grown ?
Thanks for the encouragement and tips! I just repotted for the second time from using yogurt containers to start the seeds. In three weeks I hope to start planting in the ground behind me house. The dirt has never had anything grown in it but grass. Would you recommend adding compost or any other amendments to the soil first to prep?
I just wanted to say that finding this channel and watching your videos has been such an inspiration for me to get back out there and just plant something again. I have four children and they are so motivated to get a planting area of their own now. We went out and got started and I even got them some journal books so they can make notes and keep track of their ideas and their progress. We have a 2 acre property that has been needing some improvements and your videos have made it so easy to get going with all kinds of ideas. Thank you for being so informative and inspiring to my little bunch.
Running out of garden space for any more tomatoes? Think about trying them in pots and containers!: https://youtu.be/aW8S1aiTpNc
Is there a harvest video or how to care for them. Planting is easy but maintaining is the hardest part.
How old are your tomatoes in this video?
Hi!. I love your videos & very informative. I also learnt how to make the best soil mix. I can see the difference in my veggies. How do I fertilize my tomatoes? Yellow flowers are formed on my tomato Vines.
Does it need fertilizer?
I just got my first seedlings, never grown before so this series was super helpful.
Looking forward to seeing if I'm successful or not!
thank you so much for these videos. I planted tomato seeds for the first time and wasn't sure when to transplant into bigger pots or, that I even had to! LOL 🙂 so thank you very much!!
