VIDEO: Gardener Roasts Dumb "Indoor Gardening Hacks"

Grab a copy of my book: http://bit.ly/epicgardenbook I had some fun with this one…I realize these types of “hack” videos are made just for the views but it was fun to look at this from a gardener’s perspective. What do you guys think…any good hacks in this one? Was I off base in any of these? Send me your favorite gardening videos to react to!

  1. So I have a fear of worms but I know how vital they are in any garden for composting/decomposing material and ultimately for the success of plants… What do I do xD That's the gardening hack I really need

  2. An aspirin ground up and put into the spray bottle and used on tomatoes plants will boost the (hormones) that the plant releases to protect itself from pests..Roots and Refuge channel

  3. You can really see how they can lead people a stray.. They have normal tips mixed in with just bogus hacks that can actually be harmful to your soul microbial health, or even your plants period.

  4. The actual reason some people may plant things upside down like that is because plants absorb water through the root tips. Upside down, plants' roots are closer to the surface, so you wouldn't have to water as much to reach the root ends. The issue with this is you are more likely to over water or under water your plants. Just plant your plants properly.

  5. If you tell someone feeding themselves only with chocolate ice-cream they will believe you and gave you thumb up. If you tell them to stop drinking soft drinks and eat more veggies they will gave you thumb down. That's kind of garden populism 🙂

  6. Ironically some of the excessive water tips might actually help me. The area I live in is so arid that I have a lot of trouble just keeping my house plants watered enough, and really cannot have any drainage on them, not even the succulents, because even a little just absolutely rips the water out of the soil. Might try that sponge idea at the bottom, that could really help.

  7. If upside down plants absorbed more nutrients, plants would almost certainly grow upside down. Plants haven't been adapting and evolving as long as they have only to still be doing it wrong.
