  1. Is this the same as ornamental corn?

I have some seeds but i want to make sure they're edible and im not just gonna poison my family if we eat them or something lol

  2. As others have mentioned, definitely try to make masa, which is made from hominy, for preparing this kind of corn. Hominy is made through a process called nixtamalization, you'll find plenty of youtube vids about it. Pretty common in Mexico and some southern areas of the USA, but forgotten in most of the world. If you eat corn without first making it into hominy, you aren't getting nearly the amount of nutritional content you could, as nixtamalization breaks the corn down for us first. Making hominy may seem intimidating and laborious but the taste and nutritional value are superior. Good luck and thanks for the awesome vids, I just found your channel!

  3. Make tortillas. Turn it into masa. Look up nixtimalisation. It's how you cook the dry kernel with wood ash or lye. Soak in solution overnite. Strain and wash the kernels the next day then grind into masa.

  4. Don't forget that if you plan on eating large amounts of these types of corn you may want to subject the corn to nixtamalization ( I hope that I spelled that correctly.).
Nixtamalization does two things 1) it will keep you from getting pellegra ( probably also spelled incorrectly) by breaking down the toxic outside shell, and 2) it makes the flour taste more like the actual plant and corn tastes when it is fresh. I think that is makes masa (another possible spelling error) much better that corn flour.

  5. God bless you all. 1Corinthians15:1-4=Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the GOSPEL which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are SAVED, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, HOW THAT CHRIST DIED FOR OUR SINS ACCORDING TO THE SCRIPTURES; AND THAT HE WAS BURIED, AND THAT HE ROSE AGAIN THE THIRD DAY ACCORDING TO THE SCRIPTURES.
Ephesian 1:13=In whom ye also TRUSTED, after that ye heard the word of truth, the GOSPEL of your SALVATION: in whom also after that ye BELIEVED, ye were SEALED with that holy Spirit of promise.
Ephesian 2:8-9=For by GRACE are ye SAVED through FAITH; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of WORKS, lest any man should boast.
Romans 3:23-26=For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being JUSTIFIED FREELY by his GRACE through the REDEMPTION that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God hath set forth to be a PROPITIATION through FAITH in his BLOOD, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which BELIEVETH in Jesus. Without blood there is no life and without Jesus BLOOD no eternal life.

  6. Am Kenyan/ Dutch…….. in Kenya among the Kalenjin tribe we use this type of corn( Cheborosin in Kalenjin) to make Ugali( Ugali is so similar to polenta only one has to boil water the moment it begins bubble add the corn floor keep stirring mixing till firm .. repeat process on and on till can smell the smell of the corn) and its the best feed for the chickens .

  7. I and my family use corn flour like this: put a pot with water on a heat, when the water is boiling reduce the heat and add the corn flour, mix well and boil for 5 to 10 minutes whisking continually. We serve it with salty goat cheese or sheep cheese and sour cream. Hope you try it!
