Where do u get ur straw for mulch? I get mine at tractor supply, but they charge $9/ bale. Gets very expensive. I can’t really afford to mulch as much as I need to because if that?? Any advice?
What commercial???? Where do I see it?
Goodness, that long shot out your window of the whole raised bed garden… so beautiful <3
Drinks some tea with honey, i think you start to getting cold 😉 Lovely movie as always 🙂
I saw where you like to have perms. However your hair looks great like that
Do you write dates on your seeds? Or worry about germination rates going down over time?
Have you thought about getting a freeze dryer for preserving food?
THAT is a sh*tload of peppers!
Wow you sure like peppers Jess. I have two Anaheim seedlings but its not hot here in Ireland. Love watching your channel. Liz 🙂
That's me this year! I got a small 10×10 plot form the community garden and put so much work into it and it's rained for a week and the whole community garden flooded from the river and all of us first years lost our gardens.
No arroz con pollo??
Would love some advice on sowing ground cherries! Haven't been able to get a single seedling
Stay well
Up In the frigid north my peppers seem to like being left alone rather than pruning them
Your window view is amazing!!
Jen did have a video on Cowboy Candy . My nieghbor had a jar of it recently I tried it..mmm
…delicious…
That first for me, 51 years old hand digging out grass plots, center one being the main garden with chicken around it! I had to start last fall digging and rush to get in some cold weather things. Within a week the all bolted . Aphids and fungus invaded the tomato, squashes I need to quit my job stay home to stay on top of things
Dog you go out to get seeds every year to replace what you use
Hey super-Roots 🙂 Do any of you great people know why my peppers simply will not get hot in any way? I grow cayenne- they were superfine and set a Lot of beautiful peppers- they are just not hot, they seem sour or like bells. Also, my bell peppers were small and with thin walls… Now I have been discouraged from growing them- can anyone help me?(live in Denmark, starting them early 🙂
Do you have a video highlighting your greenhouse? I really want one and have been looking at ideas.
I recently bought a home and have started a raised bed garden. I am getting hooked! Then, I discovered your channel, and I LOVE IT! I live in the city but have worked out I think next year I can have 5 raised beds, and I cant wait to build them. My question is this. Do you have any videos for beginners? How to plant, space, care for, etc a home garden? Spinach, peppers, carrots, herbs, etc… I am looking for more info about the front end of the process, as you BEAUTIFULLY have the back end well in hand… 🙂 I've been scrolling thru the videos and dont see anything about the front, so thought Id ask what you recommend. Thanks so much for your work! You have quickly become my go to for gardening education. All the Best from Pittsburgh PA!!
This year was a terrible year and I was so disappointed….I’ve been gardening my whole life and I’m sixty years old. A couple of weeks ago when I found potatoes in the ground where I put some seed potatoes was incredibly exciting…..I had never grown potatoes before! They were covered in weeds and voila! Then yesterday I harvested a handful of green beans and some beets and a bunch of tomatoes and I’m ready to get next year’s veggie garden going now!!
I know exactly what you mean about cleaning the house when it rains (only)
Hey Jess, I realize that this is an old video but the pepper that you have pronunciation issues with is Pa sea uh Buy o. Also if you want really great bell pepper harvests you need to plant them closer together and add composting worms to the bed. Also you should add the scraps from the back of a juicer and coffee grounds (like you don't have access to this) and bury it in the dirt to keep the worms happy. Also you really need to get orange Bell pepper seeds. Baker Creek carries these and this is the absolute best tasting Bell pepper that you will ever grow!
Also Amish snap pea is the best tasting snap pea that you will ever grow. It does require a 7 to 8 ft. Trellis. Trust me this is the best.
Also ,since we are on this subject, Calabrese broccoli is by far the best tasting and it does produce multiple side shoots after you remove the main head.
How do you open your seed packets so perfect so they don’t tare and they still contain the seeds??
We are STILL under 80 degrees in middle TN. That is crazy for us.
