  1. Quick tip list:
1:45 Separate seedlings planted in the same cell

3:12 Check roots for damage and root circling

4:13 Same pot, same price, so choose the larger plant

  2. I work in a nursery/garden center and I always get excited at the mention of plants. It also fun to see what products different stores sell. Love your videos!

  3. My local nurseries sell scary looking plants. No way I’m paying for those infested sad looking plants. I’ve been meaning to go to this different nursery that I feel may have much better quality plants but they never have fruit/vegetable plants when I go.

  4. I grow from both seed and seedling from the local nursery. I love both, it gives you year round harvests and the opportunity to learn what you like to eat and grow and how to take care of the plants.

  5. I grow stuff from seeds that can be planted directly into the soil. Tomatoes and peppers, eggplants, they do better if you can start them earlier indoors. Cucurbits (melons, cucumbers, squash) do well from seed, and so do cole crops, but I don't grow many of those, so I don't want a whole packet of seeds, so I get starts. It is surprising how much abuse starts can take when you separate them. But you need to keep them moist while they get established in good loose soil.

  6. When I tease my plants' roots out from one another, I soak them in a small bucket infused with micorhyz(ea?). Sorry, not sure on the plural spelling. But it seems to bounce back from the root shock if they get a good few minutes in that before planting.

  7. people on the street don't mess with your garden? i would be paranoid if i had a garden in my front yard knowing where I live…nosy people would try to steal it…even if there are cameras watching

  8. Hi, I am a new gardener, however I am in Edinburgh, Scotland in the uk. And I have followed most of your tip for starting out and all my flowers and veg seeds have came up, about 6 different herbs and 5 kinds of flowers. And 4 veg just to try. I made newspaper pots to save money, And I am now harding them off for for pots the garden. As it's not very big. Thank you so much you have been a great help, never to much jargon. And the look at your last frost date was an amazing piece of information. I now watch everyone of you uploads . Thank again x

  9. Let's get something straight here: there is no such thing as "too excited" when it comes to shopping for your garden. I get giddy when I see new seeds on display. That is so called for! LOL.

  10. I was just there! I live in the neighborhood. This nursery is wonderful. The cat is the sweetest and chillest I’ve ever come across in my life. Her name is Critter. It’s been very hot lately so she’s shedding like crazy and mostly just sleeping under shady spots. When I came home I was covered in cat hair, I pet her so much LOL! I also love seeing all the different chickens freely walking around the property. Sometimes I would turn a corner and a chicken would be walking out the door, and i & anyone else around me always yield for the chicken “after you, miss”. Plants do sell fast at this nursery so now I’ve learned as soon as I see something I might like, I just buy it right then!
