Shouldn't each piece be 2 3/8" times 3 pieces plus 2 times 1/16" blade widths makes 7 1/4" (not 2 1/4" as you say) ?
Good idea, thanks
This is a great idea but if we rotate our crops every year this would be a pain to take apart and move to another raised bed. Am I right or wrong?
Tuck approved! 🙂
I love the way you just get right into the video and always stay focused through out. Without all the chit chat that has nothing to do with what your talking about. Thank You for the very informative video.
I figured out a way to use up all the 2 inch PVC pipe I had laying around. Bought a 3" x 30" auger for my drill and made something similar but anchored 2 feet deep with no need for a base thanks to these clean deep holes. Shooting for 12 foot maters this year. – NJ expat in northern Michigan.
Inspiring and empowering!❤
what is your height bro?
Tuck should have his own gardening channel
NEVER have an animal around when using power tools! They can sometimes get underfoot and cause an accident. Plus, sawdust or other debris can enter into their eyes, mouth and nose being very harmful to their health. Same rule goes for children.
Can I use copper wire for trellising tomatoes?
Could you please add measurements, of bed and trellis under the description box.
You are awesome! With the wood prices double and tripling, this is such a money saver! I can't thank you enough! James you are a blessing to all of us! We appreciate your videos and your expertise. I just love watching and following you. Im sure you will be one of the grandfathers on how to make a food forest and be among one of those guys whom we refer to as we make our own forests many generations to come. WOW.
Need to see those tomatoe plants climbing the strings, and of course, what tomato species are climbing the trellis strings. Sounds cool, but , I am growing large tomatoes, and my plants , using cages, overgrow the cages too. Can you please be specific as to which type of tomatoes, and make a video as to the results. Even still, its a great idea! Thanks.
This is really great Jamie and Tuck.
Margot NZ.
was there ever a follow up video to see the results after the tomatoes grew?
Thank you, I wonder how to cut the wood. Now I know it.
Thanks! My new micro-farm is doing great thanks to this channel, but yeah the tomato vines are in a big contest with the squashes over who can outgrow the bed the fastest. Is there an "after" video for this technique?
If you don't want to use pressure treated (presumably because of the chemicals) you should use a food-safe alternative such as fractionated coconut oil (not linseed)

James, I'm sure you know that pressure treated wood has not been treated with arsenic for over 10 years now. It is treated with copper which you know is a fungicide used in organic gardening. So why the hesitancy of using pressure treated wood??
James – Would you consider doing a video that compares your various tomato trelliissing methods – and sharing the pros and cons of each? I'm still in search of the perfect tomato trellis method!
He talks like he is on meth
Love love love your channel!! I have a question about this. Did you have any issues with it being too heavy after the plant were all the way up it. Even with the supports? I would be worried it would blow over the whole bed frame. I am about to build the same!! That’s why I’m re watching this video!!
Lots of work, big project
