I've just been convinced to try to grow a lemon tree. I've been waffling about it for months, I already have a calamansi and am not sure if a lemon will do well in the humid tropics.
I have a meyer lemon tree and we had lemons on it for almost a year!

It'd be great if you could make a video about growing Yuzu plants in containers please ..they seem a nightmare to grow successfully , I started with about a 100 from seeds 8 years ago , on a roof.. and due to bugs , slugs and some pathogens I'm down to a bout 20..no fruit in sight yet unfortunately..

I plan on buying plenty of already established fruit trees especially citris to grow in pots until I eventually am able to buy my own house but in the meantime i'm grown some lemon trees from seeds just 'cause it's fun. maybe in a few years I'll get some decent lemons and if not hey I've got free trees no worries

I just don’t believe you . Have tried so many times to grow lemons in pots and the friggin trees do all sort of crazy stuff( drop leaves , turn yellow, basically do everything they can to look like they are dead) . My theory is find a friend who has a successful lemon tree and harvest from them because anyone who has a good tree cant eat all the fruit yet if you go to the supermarket you pay a fortune for a friggin lemon. I grew a few plants from lemon seeds . They all have spikes. Does that mean they are yuzu?
I am in the Adelaide Hills and there is a lemon in a pot growing like crazy. It's got new leaves, flowers and fruit. But I want to put it in a bigger pot with the ideal soil in it. I will cut out the bottom of the pot with a split in the side, to reduce the shock and after it gets going pull out the sides. But will it matter when I do it? Spring starts any day now.
I really hate people who flap their mouths endlessly before getting to the info that people want.
The best video for info on growing citrus trees will literally be about 30 seconds long.
The person on the video will say:
, " use this potting soil " then show you the actual soil brand in the bag you need.
" use this fertilizer" then show you the fertilizer in the bag that you need.
Then they will shut the fuck up and the video will end.
I live in Michigan and I have a lemon tree in a huge pot in my house. It's only produced 1 lemon in almost 2 years! What am I doin wrong?
