  1. Been your silent viewer, but now I have a channel too and I'm still here. I love gardening too, but not much like you have! I also have a yorkie dog and watching your dog eating carrots made me feed my dog with carrots too. Amazing garden you have there, bro!

  2. Hello James! Your garden is so cozy! I am planning to mulch my garden too. What do you do with the leaves in your garden at the end of the season? Do you leave them on the ground? Your garden looks really neat! 🙂

  3. Have you considered adding garden giant's (aka Wine caps), or mushroom plugs, etc?.

The mulch just had me thinking about it, as it's a decent substrate for many mushrooms.

  4. Dude how long does it take to grow I live in Jersey as well and just started a garden and it’s been about three months planting from seed and I’m not seeing the results that you are

  5. Your energy is contagious! I am 71, have been gardening all my life organically, doing much of the same things you do, but it is so refreshing to see a young person so enthusiastic, knowledgeable and sharing!

  6. I absolutely love your videos!!!!!! I have started my own food forest in two locations because of you. One on my property and another at a friend’s property.

I planted two fruit trees in my front yard this spring (1 self-fertile apple and one peach). I know it will be a few years before I get a harvest but like you said in your videos, you have to start somewhere and so I did. Thanks for referencing where you bought your bare root trees from. I’m going to try and build that up into a little guild.

Last year I planted two blueberries plants into two large planters in my back yard along side my raised bed gardens and they survived our cold winter here in central NY. I also planted some black raspberries and red raspberries along with a couple of current bushes. Last year I contacted a tree company and had them drop a load of wood chips which I placed all around my garden beds after laying down cardboard first. I also planted this year three grape plants.

QUESTION: Do you have any videos or advice for me on growing grapes? Will they produce grapes the first year and if so should I not let them fruit and let them build their root structure first? Is there any special pruning I will need to do with these as they grow this year? I have them at the base of a cattle panel trellis. I’m hoping the panels will be big enough. I am also growing hardy kiwi on another cattle panel trellis in another part of my garden. Tonight I just put in a row of True Black Brandywine tomatoes surrounded by parsley, basil, garlic, lettuce and carrots. Then in the other side of the bed I’m growing peppers. Different types of bell, Habanada Specialty peppers and some others that don’t have any heat index tied to them.

QUESTION #2: when you pulled your carrot out of your raised bed, what kind of soil is that? What did you use to fill your bed with and how deep is that bed?

I love your energy and quotes. I can’t wait to see how everything grows this year. Hopefully you will have the time to reply to my two questions. Thanking you in advance if you are able to answer. Like I said, you are truly inspirational. Therefore I will need to pick your brain occasionally as I try and implement what you’re doing. I only wish I didn’t have a big in ground pool taking up so much room.
