Fabric Grow Bags Are All The Hype. They are lightweight, inexpensive, last a long time, come in every size imaginable, and even somewhat prevent root-balling! Their use has skyrocketed the last 5 years so we might as well look at how to use them!
In this video, I show you how I plant up my Bush Tomatoes using the 5 Gallon grow bags, discussing not only the planting steps, but also the care after planting. We look at watering, mulching, and get down and dirty with the basics of potting/container gardening in general!

Thank you! Your Awesome! 🙂
A fine presentation from a real teacher.
What is grow bag fabric name
Do you just sit the pots in a tub of water like you did in this video to water them every single time you water them?
I’m considering growing tomatoes indoors in these and I know bottom watering is the better method so I wanted to be really clear on the best method for watering them. Also do you have any advice on what kind of light would be best for growing indoor heirlooms?
I've watched all your tomato planting videos and have learned a ton. I'm wondering how you deal with blossom end rot. I've never seen you adding anything to prevent it.
I’ve been sewing my own bags to the sizes I want..easy and fun…
How to decide where to put the bags. Do you have to water everyday? I'm hoping to take a few vacations and worried they won't have enough water
Many thanks! Do you mind if I ask what size the grow bags in this video are? I couldn't quite tell.
Planting tomatoes and strawberries for the first time! This was really helpful!
What size bags are you using for your tomatoes?
Can I leave the growing bags in the water buckets and just fill it in through out the season ?
They dont have drain holes.. Should we make them…??
I know this is late, but if anyone else sees this comment, what grow bag size would be better?
5, 7, or 10 gallon grow bags for your average bell pepper plant/determinate tomato?
Thanks

Hi! Do I need to place a saucer underneath for water runoff? I live on the 5th floor and can’t leak water on lower floor balconies. Will The fabric mold in the saucer?
Im just trying grow bags this year. Wow they take a ton of potting soil lol. Im looking forward to see how my plants do. Thank u for your great tips.
I already have MY grow bags. Ready to transplant my Cherry Tomato plants! Just gotta get some mulch… thanx again for all your informative info. I always enjoy your passion & enthusiasm!
Id suggest watering your potting mix before putting in the fabric container. So that it is more even and quicker to reach right moisture level.
Hi, I'm new to your channel, I have watched and learned quite a bit from your videos. Thank you for making them.
I do have a question though. I am planting beefsteak tomatoes do you think 10 or 15 gallon grow bags are big enough? If not can you tell me what you would suggest? Thank you for sharing your time and knowledge.
Thank you once again for an outstanding video.
What is your mulch a mixture off?
I got these bags for potatoes and carrots but ended up trying one for a cherry tomato plant. So far so good!
Glad I ran across this video! You have offered so much great advice/info in all of your videos and I have learned A LOT. I tried my luck with peppers this past year and I used 5 gallon cloth containers. The only real downside I saw to my setup as the amount of water that poured out the sides and bottom of the containers every time I watered. I noticed that you started you containers by letting them stand in water to get a good soak and I'm wondering if bottom watering like that would work all the time? It seems like it would be a more efficient way to get the water to the roots but I'm not sure. Thanks again for sharing all the knowledge!
Thank you for your sharing. We are also a horticultural products supplier and manufacturer. I wonder if I have the opportunity to cooperate with you.
Do you always keep your grow bags in containers of water?
