Growing Lettuce In The Fall. Lettuce is the perfect end-of-summer crop! With the super hot days of summer behind us, we can grow this fast crop before winter hits for a cheeky late season freebie, or, if you have mild winters, Lettuce just might be your source of greens until spring!
In this video I show you how I prepare my raised beds at the end of summer, using a no-dig style of gardening. With this method we don’t disturb the top soil at all, instead planting the Mesclun Lettuce mix right on top of that old mulch layer! Its faster, easier, and most of all, it works better!

That was interesting. Other gardening videos I've watched show that lettuce seeds shouldn't be covered because the seeds need the sunlight in order to germinate. But, you covered your seeds with soil and mulch. Does that mean either way works?
Lettuce pray. I live on the Oregon coast, lettuce grows good here. I have some growing right now.
