Our chickens have never seen snow before, so today will definitely give them something to cluck about. We have never gotten a snowstorm like this in October before, 5 inches of snow fell, and the snow lasted all day. The chickens were not impressed, and laid eggs in defiance of mother nature, but ultimately they retreated to the warmth and comfort of their coop, and piled up for a giant chicken cuddle party. Meanwhile, where is the Rooster? We can hear him but he can’t be seen. Join us as we search for the Rooster, and shout encouraging sentiments towards the chickens as they get their first snow experience. They are a breed that is supposed to be very cold hardy, so if they can’t take the cold, they have nobody to blame but themselves.
