Self Sufficient Me is based on our small 3-acre property/homestead in SE Queensland Australia about 45kms north of Brisbane – the climate is subtropical (similar to Florida). I started Self Sufficient Me in 2011 as a blog website project where I document and write about backyard food growing, self-sufficiency, and urban farming in general. I love sharing my foodie and DIY adventures online so come along with me and let’s get into it! Cheers, Mark 🙂

  1. I've been subbed for a few weeks and have watched dozens and dozens of your vids. They always make me smile and it's a great escape to "hang out" with you in your beautiful property. Congrats on the 1MM! Cheers!

  2. "Ducks are a bit stinky" And you keep chickens as well? Ducks are fecal matter monsters, that is for sure, but the stink is completely on the chickens. Their sour shit is so much worse than duckmud

  3. For what it’s worth, I can tell you that I enjoy watching you in the garden as much as like learning about gardening. Great and happy man. Thank you for making content for us.
